Colonel Pham Gia Chien, Head of the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) said that the unit has developed a patrol and control plan, in which it will mobilize all its forces to participate with the motto of no days off to ensure traffic order and safety.

According to the plan, traffic police will be the main force coordinating with criminal police, drug crime investigation police, mobile police, public order police and police of communes, wards and towns to resolutely handle 5 groups of behaviors that are the direct causes of traffic accidents.

Five groups of behaviors are considered to be the direct causes of road traffic accidents in recent times: Violating regulations on alcohol concentration and drug use while participating in traffic; Overloading and expanding the cargo compartment; Controlling compliance with legal regulations on passenger vehicle operations; Controlling traffic on National Highways; Checking documents to ensure vehicle safety when participating in traffic.

Also according to Colonel Pham Gia Chien, Head of the Traffic Police Department, on this occasion, the joint forces will establish more than 200 working groups to take part in ensuring traffic order and safety. The focus will be on Lao Cai city, establishing 50 groups, on National Highway 4D, 9 groups, and in Sa Pa town, 16 groups.

According to the authorities, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, families all have the need to travel to visit relatives, go on vacation, etc. Lao Cai has attractive tourist destinations such as Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Y Ty (Bat Xat), so it can attract a large number of visitors, which means the number of vehicles will increase. Therefore, through patrolling and controlling, the traffic police force will identify areas, times, routes, and traffic participants where accidents are likely to occur in order to increase patrols and provide timely guidance to prevent accidents on the road.
