Lang Chanh speeds up construction progress of projects

Việt NamViệt Nam07/05/2024

In 2024, Lang Chanh district will implement 89 projects. Of these, 23 projects will be carried over from 2023, and the rest will be new projects in 2024. In order to complete the projects and put them into use on time and ensure the quality of the works, Lang Chanh district is focusing on directing construction units to speed up the progress.

Lang Chanh speeds up construction progress of projects The project of embankment to prevent landslides combined with urban beautification and land exploitation in Lang Chanh town area is being implemented by the construction unit with the volume reaching about 30%.

The road project from Giang village, Tri Nang commune, passing through 3 villages: Bang, Giang, Tiu of Lang Chanh town connecting National Highway 15A has a length (road and bridge) of 5km, a total investment of 108 billion VND, started in October 2023, and will be completed and put into use after 18 months from the commencement date. Mr. Luong Van Dung, Deputy Director of Tien Dat Construction Joint Stock Company, said: Immediately after the project started, the unit focused on machinery and means to speed up the progress. By May 3, 2024, the unit had completed the work such as completing the construction of the prestressed bridge with reinforced concrete, digging, filling the roadbed and installing the longitudinal and transverse drainage system... with an estimated volume of about 50%. The unit is striving to complete and hand over the project earlier than the contract signed with the investor.

The project to construct a local anti-erosion embankment combined with urban development and land exploitation in Lang Chanh town, with a total investment of 108 billion VND, started in October 2023 and is expected to be completed in May 2025, is currently being accelerated by two construction units, TVN Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and Tan Thanh Construction and Trading Company Limited. The representative of the joint venture of construction units, Mr. Ngo Quang Duc, Director of Tan Thanh Construction and Trading Company Limited, said: Up to this point, the unit has basically completed the embankment and paved the roof for 1km, the remaining 2km is being filled with roadbed soil... with an estimated volume of about 30%. The biggest difficulty now, affecting the progress, is preparing for the rainy season, the transportation of materials as well as the construction of the embankment will be difficult. Therefore, taking advantage of favorable weather, the unit will focus on human and material resources to speed up construction progress, striving to complete and hand over the project to the investor earlier than scheduled.

Director of Lang Chanh District Construction Investment Project Management Board, Mr. Pham Hung Sam said: In 2024, Lang Chanh district will implement 89 public investment projects (66 new projects and 23 projects carried over from 2023). Most of the new projects starting construction in 2024 are in the process of investment preparation. For the transitional projects under construction, to ensure the progress and quality of construction works, the board has coordinated with local authorities to actively propagate and mobilize people whose land is affected by the project to promptly hand over clean land to the construction unit. At the same time, regularly inspect, urge, and remove difficulties and obstacles so that the construction unit can focus on speeding up the progress. In general, the site clearance work as well as the construction of projects in the district up to May 3, 2024 basically ensures the progress according to the district's requirements. Among them, many projects have construction progress exceeding the district's requirements, typically: The traffic road project from Giang village (Tri Nang commune) to Bang, Giang, Tieu villages (Lang Chanh town) connecting to National Highway 15A; The project of embankment to prevent local landslides combined with urban development and land exploitation in Lang Chanh town... The remaining projects are being implemented by construction units taking advantage of favorable weather, focusing on human resources, machinery, and vehicles to speed up progress, ensuring compliance with the district's requirements. According to Mr. Sam, the biggest difficulty currently facing construction units is the increase in transportation costs, because there are no mines in the area to serve the construction. Therefore, to have materials for construction, units have to transport a distance of tens of kilometers, which has increased the cost of the project many times compared to the signed contract, causing difficulties for businesses and affecting the progress.
