The Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said that this year's national excellent student exam has 6,482 candidates registered, an increase of 663 candidates compared to the 2023-2024 school year, with 68 examination councils.
This year's exam includes 13 subjects: math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year's national high school exam has some new points compared to previous years, notably the first time the Japanese language exam was held.
This is also the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training has applied the method of transporting exam papers through the Government Cipher Committee's system nationwide, and the transportation of exam papers has gone smoothly.
The expected announcement date of the exam results is the end of January 2025.
Hanoi is the locality with the largest number of candidates taking the excellent student exam in the country. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that this year, 260 students from 13 teams will take part in the exam, an increase of 20 students compared to last year.
This is the first time the city has established a team of excellent students in Japanese to participate in the national competition for excellent students. Students of the teams have been trained at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted for the past 2 months.
