On the morning of October 21, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province coordinated with the National Institute of History to organize a national scientific conference "La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep in the flow of Vietnamese history and culture". The opening session was chaired by Dr. Vo Hong Hai - Head of the Organizing Committee of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee; Master Le Ngoc Chau - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Prof. Dr., People's Teacher Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association; Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Quang Hai - former Director of the Institute of History, Editor-in-Chief of the Historical Research Journal; Associate Professor Dr. Bien Minh Dien - Vinh University; Mr. Bui Xuan Thap - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh; Mr. Nghiem Sy Dong - Secretary of the Can Loc District Party Committee. Speaking at the workshop, Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung expressed his joy at welcoming delegates, experts and scientists to attend the workshop "La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep in the flow of Vietnamese cultural history".
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: Ha Tinh is honored to be the homeland that gave birth to, nurtured, and created the spirit and bravery of heroes, famous cultural figures, and revolutionary leaders of the Party, such as: Dang Tat, Dang Dung, Nguyen Du, Nguyen Cong Tru, Phan Dinh Phung, the first General Secretary of the Party - Tran Phu, General Secretary Ha Huy Tap, the first communist youth union member Ly Tu Trong... Among them is the excellent son of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep (1723 - 1804), from Can Loc district. Born into a family with a rich tradition, Nguyen Thiep showed a high sense of responsibility for the destiny of the nation and made special contributions to the history of Vietnam.

As a modern scholar, with a deep sense of responsibility for the fate of the country and the people, La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep chose for himself a unique path, based on taking the fate of the country and the lives of all people as the goal of his practice. He was a noble personality, a great intellect, a noble soul, a steadfast and steadfast character.
Emperor Quang Trung highly appreciated La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep: "Looking up to Luc Nien citadel, there is a talented person living there, it is heaven that reserved Phu Tu for his virtue". Professor Hoang Xuan Han said: "Thanks to Phu Tu, Confucianism spread throughout the Hoan Chau region", "because of his characteristics, Phu Tu was involved in all the main roles in the historical drama of the time"...
Overview of the workshop.
Studying the life of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep, we receive many valuable lessons about human ethics, lifestyle, positive behavior in the face of all changes of the times, responsibility to the country and homeland. Regarding ideology, if we want a stable country, we must take the people's hearts as the foundation, and if we want a prosperous country, we must attach importance to education.
The workshop was attended by many delegates from universities, research centers, cultural and historical preservation centers across the country.
Along with informing delegates about some of the socio-economic achievements of the province in recent times, Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung emphasized: Ha Tinh always identifies culture as an endogenous driving force for development. The Resolution of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term has determined: "Promoting democracy, solidarity, will, aspirations, cultural values and human strength of Ha Tinh... to develop rapidly and sustainably, striving to become a well-off province of the country by 2030". On that basis, many policies and guidelines on culture have been issued and put into practice. The work of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values has received regular attention, especially those heritages recognized by UNESCO.
Currently, Ha Tinh province is building a project to develop Ha Tinh culture and people in the new period. Focusing on exploiting and promoting the effectiveness of tangible and intangible cultural values. In the coming time, Ha Tinh province hopes that delegates and scientists will continue to pay attention to giving suggestions to the province on development orientation, including the cultural field.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bien Minh Dien presented a paper: "La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep with the issue of "export and processing" and messages to posterity".
Addressing the conference, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh Bui Xuan Thap emphasized: Although he was a famous person, the research works on La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep up to now are still very modest. Besides the work La Son Phu Tu by Professor Hoang Xuan Han written in 1953, published in Paris, and the Poetry of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep by Nguyen Si Can published in 1998, up to now there have only been a few scattered topics and articles, not worthy of the merits and career of the Confucian scholar La Son Nguyen Thiep.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep (1723 - 2023), the conference aims to announce new collections, research, and studies about La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep such as: life, people, career, hometown, era, social relationships, history...
Thereby supplementing and affirming the role and contributions of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep to the Tay Son Dynasty in particular, and to the culture and history of the country in general. At the same time, preserving, exploiting and promoting the cultural heritage values of the Tay Son Dynasty and La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep in Ha Tinh.
Prof. Dr. Dinh Khac Thuan (Institute of Han Nom Studies) presented a paper: "The contributions of La Son Phu Tu to the Tay Son Dynasty through the Han Nom text Hanh Am di van".
The conference received nearly 60 papers from historical and cultural researchers across the country. After the opening session, the conference was divided into two sub-committees for discussion.
With 30 papers presented directly at the conference, using arguments, evidence and scientific evidence, researchers once again affirmed the legacy values that La Son Phu Tu left for posterity. In which, most of the papers and opinions focused on researching the background, career, influence of hometown, family, historical relationships that shaped the personality, talent, behavior and great contributions of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep to the history and culture of the nation.

The conference gathered many prestigious experts, veteran researchers, lecturers, and researchers from universities to participate in writing and presenting articles about La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep. The content of the papers focused on an overview of the life and career of La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep. The common point was to emphasize and evaluate Nguyen Thiep as a righteous Confucian scholar who served the country and the people, showing that he was a great personality and profound intelligence; mentioning La Son Phu Tu's contributions to the cultural and educational cause during the Tay Son period, and Nguyen Thiep's assistance in choosing the capital city by King Quang Trung. Some papers met in depth in analyzing Nguyen Thiep's poetry and literature, the relationships between La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep and famous people of the same period, the influence of Nghe An and his family on the formation of Nguyen Thiep's personality...
This workshop is one of the most comprehensive workshops, partly filling the gaps in research on La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep over the past long time.
As a result, the success of today's scientific conference is the premise for in-depth topics and seminars on La Son Phu Tu as well as famous people and historical and cultural events.
