On April 12, in Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue), the Ministry of Education and Training held a training conference on regulations and procedures for organizing the 2024 high school graduation exam. Nearly 450 delegates, representatives of the education sector of 63 provinces and cities and leaders of departments and offices under the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security... participated.
At the conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Head of the National Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, reminded the Departments of Education and Training of many important contents.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, directed at the conference.
In particular, Mr. Thuong paid special attention to the work of preparing exam questions, invigilation, grading, review, and appraisal.
This year's exam regulations have added a new point, items that candidates are prohibited from bringing into the exam room include: carbon paper, erasers; alcoholic beverages, weapons and explosives, flammable substances; documents, communication devices or information storage devices used to cheat during the exam.
Many recommendations and proposals of the delegates were answered by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training.
At the conference, the representative of the Internal Political Security Department (A03) of the Ministry of Public Security also pointed out many devices that candidates often use to cheat in exams. The common feature of these devices is that they are super small headphones, connected to calling and broadcasting devices, "disguised" as buttons, glasses, computers, etc.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management of the Ministry of Education and Training, said that leaking exam questions is a disclosure of state secrets and can be subject to criminal liability. Therefore, this work needs to be carried out carefully and strictly.
Regarding this, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Cao Bang province asked: To proactively detect when candidates bring high-tech devices, are testing sites allowed to use metal detectors to check?
Responding to the above issue, Mr. Huynh Van Chuong emphasized that localities need to proactively carry out the pilot and report the results to the Ministry of Education and Training, thereby finding optimal and effective solutions.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, highly appreciated the contributions of the delegates, especially the opinions surrounding the prevention of exam cheating, demonstrating a very high sense of responsibility of education officials.
Mr. Thuong hopes that the 2024 high school graduation exam will continue to promote the motto "real teaching, real learning, real exams, real results". The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to direct the exams to be more and more effective, providing reliable results for universities to base their admissions on.
