Celebrating 20 years of founding Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School

This morning, October 18, Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School (Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province) held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary (2004-2024). Dong Ha City Party Secretary Le Quang Chien; leaders of the Department of Education and Training attended the ceremony.

The speech presented by Party Cell Secretary and Principal of Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School, Nguyen The Nhan, highlighted the impressive achievements in the 20 years of establishment and development of the school.

Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School was established on October 18, 2004, located in Dong Le Ward, Dong Ha City. On the first day of establishment, the school had 40 teachers mobilized from schools in Dong Ha Town (now Dong Ha City). The school's facilities consisted of only one 3-storey building with 15 rooms to organize teaching for 20 classes in 2 shifts, as well as a practice room, library and teachers' office; there were no functional rooms; teaching equipment was lacking, the library had only 158 books.

After 20 years of efforts, by the 2024-2025 school year, 100% of the school's teachers will have met the standards; the quality of mass education and the school's key quality have always been maintained at the top of the Dong Ha City education sector. Notably, in the past 10 years, Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School has been one of the two leading secondary schools in terms of achievements in cultural excellence for students at all levels for 8 consecutive years (ranked first for 6 years, second for 2 years).

Every year, the school has over 50 students winning city-level excellent student awards and over 20 students winning provincial-level excellent cultural student awards; many students win national awards in IOE and scientific innovation competitions.

The school has maintained its excellent achievements as a national standard school for many consecutive years; was awarded the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province in the following school years: 2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2020-2021, 2021-2022. In the 2011-2012 school year, the school was awarded a certificate of merit and an excellent emulation flag by the Minister of Education and Training for the movement to build a "Friendly School".

In 2016, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to build "National Standard Schools" in the period of 1996-2016. In the 2021-2022 school year, the school was awarded the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee Nguyen Sy Trong emphasized: The 20th anniversary of Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School is a milestone marking the development of the school and recognizing the efforts of generations of staff, teachers, employees and students. Dong Ha City leaders highly appreciated, commended and congratulated the achievements of the school over the past 20 years.

To continue promoting the tradition and achievements, building Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School to develop more and more sustainably, affirming a bright spot in the education and training career, Vice Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee Nguyen Sy Trong requested the school to focus on effectively implementing the plan and strategy for developing Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School for the period 2022-2026, with a vision to 2030; building a team of teachers who love their profession and are truly good at their expertise and profession; constantly improving the quality of comprehensive education; strengthening moral education and life skills for students...

On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in building and developing the education and training career. The City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Ha City presented gifts to congratulate Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province presented 20 gifts, Thien Duyen Charity Association presented 15 bicycles and Do Minh Hoang's family presented 2 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances.
