At the end of the trading session early this morning (March 28), Robusta coffee prices on the London - UK exchange decreased from 1.47% - 1.58% while Arabica coffee prices on the New York - US exchange decreased from 2.54% - 3.37%.
Robusta coffee futures prices are as follows:
Delivery term May 2025 decreased by 86 USD/ton, to 5351 USD/ton.
July 2025 delivery term decreased by 82 USD/ton to 5361 USD/ton.
September 2025 delivery term decreased by 80 USD/ton to 5327 USD/ton.
November 2025 delivery period decreased by 78 USD/ton to 5246 USD/ton.
Looking back at the price of Robusta coffee in recent times, in this trading session, the coffee price has fallen to its lowest level since reaching a record of 5,821 USD/ton recorded on February 13 (Vietnam time), losing 470 USD/ton.
Converted to Vietnamese currency, today's coffee price on the London floor has lost from nearly 2,000 VND - 2,200 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in the domestic market, coffee prices yesterday afternoon decreased by 2,000 VND, to 133,400 VND/kg and are expected to continue to decrease today following the price movements on the floor this morning.
Arabica coffee prices fell sharply in today's trading session, the nearest delivery date of May 2025 decreased by 290 USD/ton, to 8,350 USD/ton, about 212 million VND/ton.

Recent coffee price developments are somewhat confusing as the coffee market is entering the end of the season, supply is tight but prices are falling.
Regarding the gap between coffee prices on the London floor and domestic prices, Mr. Thai Nhu Hiep, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), said that the two markets operate relatively independently.
Recently, coffee prices have increased, roasters around the world do not buy to store but only buy when needed and when needed, they have to buy at any price.
"At the time the price on the London floor was 5,800 USD/ton, equivalent to 146 million VND/ton, but the price in Vietnam was only 133,000 VND/kg, so they did not buy because they did not need it yet" - Mr. Hiep cited.
According to Mr. Hiep, previously, the export price of coffee was often based on the London floor price and minus the transportation cost from Vietnam to the London warehouse, often called "discount price" but now it is often not applied. There were even times when the price of real coffee had to be added to the London floor price because buyers needed the goods immediately.
