On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024 and the 78th anniversary of the Traffic Police Force's Traditional Day (February 21, 1946 - February 21, 2024), on the afternoon of February 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and extended New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department (C08) of the Ministry of Public Security.

Also attending were General To Lam, Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security. The Prime Minister's visit was connected online with the police of 63 provinces, cities and district-level police with about 12,000 police officers and soldiers in attendance.

According to C08, based on the results achieved in 2023, the traffic police force will overcome all difficulties, make efforts and be determined to further promote in 2024.
In the immediate future, to ensure order and safety on roads and participate in protecting the activities of Party and State leaders and the people's spring and Lunar New Year celebrations, the Traffic Police force will continue to maintain maximum force to best ensure the situation, deploy patrols, control, and handle violations 24/7, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, through the night, through the New Year".
Focus on strictly handling violations that are the main cause of traffic accidents; including continuing to strengthen drastic control and resolutely handle violations of alcohol concentration... according to the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, no days off".

At the same time, arrange permanent staff on traffic routes to support and help people return to their hometowns for Tet and return to urban areas with practical and meaningful activities in the spirit of "when people need it, traffic police are there, where people are in need, traffic police are there".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and commended the results achieved by the traffic police force in recent times.
In addition, the Prime Minister also highly appreciated the awareness, thinking and approach of the Traffic Police force, which has taken people as the center, subject, goal and driving force for development, all activities are aimed at the people; shifting the state from traffic control to guiding, helping and creating conditions for people to comply with traffic laws, contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety.
The Prime Minister stated that 2024 will be more difficult and challenging, so he requested the traffic police force to continue to promote its role and complete all assigned tasks.
During the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Prime Minister noted that the traffic police force needs to organize patrols, control, and strictly handle violations; highly appreciated the regulation that prohibits drinking alcohol while driving, thereby contributing to reducing traffic accidents caused by alcohol.
