According to statistics from Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), the average daily electricity consumption in the whole city in March was 58,336 million kWh, in April it was 61,542 million kWh, and in May it was 75,406 million kWh. Thus, the average electricity consumption in May increased by more than 22% compared to the average in April 2023.
The intense heat has caused electricity consumption in Hanoi to continuously increase.
Accordingly, in order to address people's concerns about the "scheduled increase in electricity bills", Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) recommends that customers, offices and production facilities join hands to use electricity economically and effectively, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment and limit the use of high-capacity equipment during peak hours of the power system, from 11:30 to 14:30 and from 20:00 to 22:00 every day; do not use many electrical appliances at the same time to avoid overloading the power grid and at the same time prevent the risk of fire and explosion in the power grid, power stations and residential areas.
EVNHANOI recommends using electricity economically, especially during peak hours.
In addition, EVNHANOI also recommends that, to limit the situation of sudden increase in electricity bills due to high demand for electricity, customers should choose and use electrical equipment with energy-saving labels according to regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
