Hue Power Company (PC Hue) said that Earth Hour 2025 will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with the theme "Green transition - Green future". This is an activity to raise public awareness about energy saving, environmental protection and climate change response.

Accordingly, in response to Earth Hour 2025, PC Hue has disseminated to its affiliated units the contents of electricity saving and environmental protection to its officers and employees, responding to the movement "All people save energy in response to Earth Hour 2025" with the message "Green transition - Green future".

Through unified media publications, participate in responding by changing avatars on personal social media accounts until the end of March 2025. At the same time, proactively turn off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment on weekdays as well as during the annual Earth Hour lights-off event.

Take measures to save electricity

Hue Electricity Company's staff and workers strengthen the implementation of electricity saving measures at agencies, units, offices and homes, striving to reduce monthly electricity demand by 10% compared to the same period and 15% during peak months from April to July 2025.

In addition, strengthen the management of electricity consumption at the Company's Office building and monitor the implementation of economical and efficient electricity use at affiliated units. Continue to implement solutions and measures to save electricity at the headquarters of the power unit, strive to reduce monthly electricity consumption and in 2025 not higher than the same period in 2024 but not affect the regular operations of the unit.

Turn off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment during the Earth Hour event from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the company office, except for electrical equipment serving regular operations such as ensuring security, fire prevention and fighting, regulating the operation of the power system, telecommunications and information systems. The affiliated Power Companies proactively save electricity at their headquarters, ensuring that electricity consumption is not higher than the same period in 2024 and minimizes it during the dry months from April to July; promote the Earth Hour Campaign 2025 at the power company headquarters and customer communication rooms in appropriate forms.

In addition, staff actively responded to movements such as conducting an online survey "Survey on the need for training in communication skills in the field of energy saving for managers and local electricity officials" organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade; an online race in response to Earth Hour 2025; an online contest "Learn about energy saving in response to Earth Hour 2025...

The implementation of activities in response to the Earth Hour Campaign combines the tasks assigned in Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period 2023-2025 and the following years.

In 2024, after one hour of turning off the lights in response to the Earth Hour Campaign, the entire Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) saved 18,100 kWh of electricity. Regarding general electricity saving during the year, the electricity saving output in 2024 reached 61,104 million kWh, the electricity saving rate reached 2.87% compared to the total commercial electricity output (2,131,412 million kWh).
