According to the representative of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism at the press conference announcing the Quang Nam Tourism Stimulus Program, the international tourist market to Vietnam is recovering and growing rapidly, but the domestic market segment has shown signs of slowing down since the beginning of 2024 due to many factors, so it is necessary to effectively stimulate domestic tourism, especially this summer.

During the 5-day holiday, Hoiana Complex Resort has reached about 60% room occupancy, with the peak time falling on April 28. Of which, Hoiana Hotel & Suites, a luxury hotel block with 141 suites, achieved the highest room occupancy rate, with some days reaching up to 90%.

Mr. Steve Wolstenholme - Chairman and General Director of Hoiana said: “If last year, at this time, we were almost fully booked for the April 30 - May 1 holiday. This year, the occupancy rate during the holiday has decreased, only about 60% compared to last year”.

Ms. Pham Thi Linh Chi - President of the Villas & Homestay Association (Quang Nam Tourism Association) also informed that although there are less than 2 weeks left until the holiday, most of the villas and homestays in Hoi An City are still not fully booked, meaning that domestic tourism is showing a tendency to slow down and decrease compared to the same period last year.

In general, domestic tourists tend to be cautious about booking long-distance trips. Many reports on booking data at popular destinations nationwide for the April 30 and May 1 holidays show that there are few "full rooms". In particular, Da Nang - Hoi An is among the destinations with the highest occupancy rate of accommodation rooms in the country.

In the recently launched tourism stimulus program, Quang Nam is making efforts to expand its attraction of domestic tourists in both the programs "Summer Emotions" and "Golden Season of Quang Nam".

Accordingly, the target market is not only in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding areas of these two cities but will also focus on the Central Highlands region.

Some target customer segments are targeted for expansion during this year's stimulus season, such as elderly customers, culture lovers, families taking their children on summer vacation, MICE customers...

According to many businesses, the signing of an agreement to promote railway tourism within the framework of the recent Quang Nam tourism stimulus program is the right direction for Quang Nam province to diversify service types to attract more visitors from both ends of the country.

This activity will partly support local tourism businesses in the short and long term in increasing the number of visitors to Quang Nam.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also expects the effect of the recently opened heritage tour connecting Hue - Da Nang to open up more opportunities for rail tourism to Quang Nam.

Currently, many accommodations have planned services and special events for visitors to Quang Nam during the holidays.

In particular, during this year’s holiday, visitors to Hoiana will have a new experience with NOX Beach Club – a 5,000 square meter beach club that was newly opened last March. With a system of 6 restaurants and bars, NOX Beach Club will bring customers diverse culinary and entertainment experiences.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that from April 20 to May 3, Tam Ky City will host a large-scale national men's and women's volleyball tournament, expected to attract thousands of athletes and their relatives to compete and visit the southern region of the province. Hoi An has just announced its event programs for the whole year and it is expected that next week, some localities will also announce a series of holiday activities to serve tourists.
