In the cooperation program with the provinces of Central and Southern Laos, in recent years, Da Nang has always focused on specific activities to support the preservation and promotion of Vietnamese in Laos. Through friendship schools and Vietnamese language centers supported by Da Nang, the mother tongue of Vietnamese people has been increasingly spread.

Contribute to preserving and spreading the mother tongue in Laos

On April 2, during a working trip to Salavane province, Da Nang coordinated with the province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony to upgrade the Friendship Primary School of the Vietnamese Association of Salavane province to Friendship Primary and Secondary School, the construction site is in Khongsedone district. This is a locality where the number of Vietnamese and Lao students is increasing.

According to statistics, currently, the Vietnamese community in the provinces of Central and Southern Laos has about 11 thousand people. In addition to Vietnamese children working and living in Laos, the demand for learning Vietnamese of Lao officials and students is also increasing. In response to this reality, in recent years, Da Nang has allocated tens of billions of VND to invest in building and improving the facilities of Lao-Vietnamese friendship schools and Vietnamese language centers in these localities. In particular, every year, the city has also sent 10 teachers to teach at Vietnamese language centers.

With these efforts, not only do the descendants of the Vietnamese community in Laos know how to use Vietnamese fluently, but they also spread the Vietnamese language in particular and the values ​​of Vietnamese cultural identity in general to the native people.
