Office staff of Vietnam Paper Corporation take the lead in implementing tobacco smoke prevention work.

In order to effectively implement the rules and regulations, the Corporation has developed and implemented many solutions to create a green, clean and beautiful working environment, including the regulation that officers and workers are not allowed to smoke in the office area and production areas of the Corporation. Immediately after recruiting workers, the Corporation arranges for workers to study the rules and regulations; especially the regulation that workers are not allowed to arbitrarily bring or use flammable or explosive objects such as lighters, cigarettes, etc. into the working area and production area. Any case of smoking or bringing flammable substances into the workplace will be strictly handled according to regulations.

Comrade Tran Quoc Vuong - Head of the Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Head of the Communications Department, Vietnam Paper Corporation said: The leaders of the Corporation regularly remind the leaders of the affiliated units to focus on propaganda about the harmful effects of tobacco to remind and sign commitments with employees about the regulation of not smoking at the workplace, especially in the production environment. Therefore, officers, civil servants, and employees all strictly comply with the regulations, thereby contributing significantly to building a healthy and safe working environment.

To build a smoke-free working environment, Vietnam Paper Corporation has promoted the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; integrated the content of propaganda on prevention and control of tobacco harms into the movement to build a culturally standard unit; sent directives from functional agencies to affiliated units to direct officers and employees to strictly implement.

Forms of propaganda are integrated into conferences, meetings, activities of the Party Committee, Party cells, unions... throughout the Corporation. On the Corporation's website, articles and images of the press and professional agencies analyzing the harmful effects of tobacco on health and the impact of tobacco smoke on the living environment are posted.

At the same time, disseminate the Party and State's policies on implementing the program to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco, and provide guidance on the steps to implement a smoke-free workplace. Thereby, require key officials of units to encourage employees not to use tobacco at work.

In fact, when we came to work directly at the office and production areas, raw material warehouses... of the Corporation, we saw that the staff and workers did a good job of preventing cigarette smoke. The signs prohibiting smoking and fire prevention regulations were placed in the right places, strictly applied so that all departments, from administration to business and engineering, must strictly follow the fire prevention regulations in general, and no smoking in particular. The safety officers of the Corporation will check and remind workers regularly.

In training sessions for workers and laborers, tobacco prevention content is also integrated to enhance propaganda effectiveness. At the same time, Vietnam Paper Corporation regularly organizes cultural and sports activities to help cadres and laborers have good health and improve labor productivity.

Thanks to the promotion and dissemination of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, it has helped the staff and employees of the whole Corporation to clearly understand the harmful effects of cigarette smoke on human health and the living environment. The regulation of no smoking in the workplace is strictly implemented, creating a comfortable and healthy working environment, ensuring a civilized, clean and beautiful working environment.
