Today (September 11), the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board issued urgent notice No. 398/TB-BQL signed by Mr. Vuong Trinh Quoc - Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board on the restoration of entry and exit activities through Lao Cai border gate.

The announcement clearly states that, based on the flood situation on the river across the border, through discussion and agreement with the management agency of Hekou border gate (China), the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board announces the entry and exit activities through Lao Cai international road border gate; international road border gate No. II (Kim Thanh) as follows:
Restoring entry and exit activities for people and vehicles through border gates from 11:00 (Hanoi time) on September 11, 2024. Heads of member sectors managing border gates deploy officers and soldiers to handle administrative procedures for organizations and individuals whose entry and exit activities return to normal.

According to information from the Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board, at 10:30 a.m. on September 11, the number of Vietnamese container trucks in stock was 160; Chinese trucks were 695.
Previously, at 10:28 a.m. on September 11, the Hekou District Border Gate Management Board (China) informed the Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board that at 11:00 a.m. (Hanoi time) on September 11, immigration activities at Kim Thanh border gate and Lao Cai road border gate (via Ho Kieu bridge) will be restored.
As Dan Viet reported, due to the storm and rain, the water level of the Red River rose, at 1:15 p.m. on September 9, 2024, import-export and immigration activities through the Lao Cai - Ha Khau International Border Gate pair were temporarily suspended due to the flood situation and the power outage at the Chinese inter-sectoral office.
