These days, production facilities, shopping malls, and stores in the province have proactively sourced goods, providing the market with moon cakes, food, beverages, toys, etc. to serve people's shopping needs during the full moon festival.
Vi Thu grocery store, Hoang Xa commune, Thanh Thuy district sells many brands of moon cakes, serving people's shopping needs.
From around the middle of the 7th lunar month, along the streets of Viet Tri city, stalls selling moon cakes of brands such as Kinh Do, Bibica, Huu Nghi... have been set up in prime locations with high population density to promote, introduce and sell products to customers who want to enjoy cakes early or buy them as gifts.
With two main types of baked cakes and sticky rice cakes, this year's moon cakes have innovations in the filling flavors. In addition to the traditional filling flavors of mixed and green beans, cake brands have also launched many new attractive flavors such as: roasted chicken, runny eggs, Chinese sausage, abalone... and some less sweet cakes, the fillings are made from seeds: lotus seeds, chia seeds, almonds, black sesame, melon seeds... for vegetarians and dieters.
According to some stall owners, this year's moon cakes have many designs, diverse in flavor and quality, but the basic price remains stable compared to last year. Each cake costs from 55,000 - 95,000 VND/piece with weights of 180g, 230g, 250g, 300g... For high-end products, the price ranges from several hundred thousand to millions of VND/box/4 pieces.
In addition to the booths with their own brands, supermarkets and grocery stores in the province have also soon put moon cakes on the shelves. For example, at Co.opmart Viet Tri Supermarket, a separate display area for moon cakes has been arranged at the entrance so that customers can easily see and choose.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hien - Deputy Director of Coop.mart Supermarket said: Since the middle of the 7th lunar month, the supermarket has been selling Kinh Do brand mooncakes with many flavors such as: Red beans, green beans with almonds, green beans with melon seeds... priced from 65,000 - 79,000 VND/piece, weighing 150g and 230g. In addition to mooncakes, the supermarket also added many confectionery items, soft drinks and typical regional fruits to serve customers' shopping needs during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Market management force checks the quality of goods at Ta Quyet moon cake production facility, Au Co ward, Phu Tho town.
Besides famous Mid-Autumn Festival brands, traditional moon cake production facilities in the province such as Ta Quyet, Kim Lien, Thu Thuy, Tuan Anh... in Au Co ward, Phu Tho town are also busy preparing goods and starting to receive orders for this year's "moon season".
Ms. Nguyen Kim Lien - Owner of Kim Lien Mooncake Production Facility, Phu Tho Town said: The consumption of mooncakes will increase from around the beginning of the 8th lunar month, especially from the 10th to the 14th of the 8th lunar month, the retail market for this item will be very busy because people often have the mentality of buying cakes close to the day.
Along with the diverse moon cake market, children's toys are also consumed a lot during the Mid-Autumn Festival. In addition to the main traditional toys such as: star lanterns, carp lanterns, masks... stores also update many new items, especially handmade toys made from paper, bamboo... with high safety, beautiful designs to serve "young customers". The prices of toy products range from 20,000 - 100,000 VND/product, not much different from previous years.
Comrade Ha Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Market Management Department said: As the standing agency of the Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (Steering Committee 389), the Provincial Market Management Department strengthens coordination with branches and members of the Steering Committee 389 of the province, district and city to inspect the implementation of legal regulations on goods serving production and essential consumption of the people.
In particular, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the demand for moon cakes and other goods increases, especially near the full moon of August. Market management forces focus on closely monitoring the market situation of supply and demand of goods; checking and controlling the origin, origin, invoices, documents, product labels, and certificates of conformity for moon cakes, food, soft drinks, confectionery, and children's toys; strictly handling violations according to the provisions of law. At the same time, step up the dissemination of legal policies to business organizations and individuals, requiring business households to sign a commitment not to trade in counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods, etc.
