Blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine Con Dao will make you remember forever
Right after the Year of the Dragon, I had an emotional visit to Con Dao. Having learned, read, and heard a lot about the heroic history of the nation, about Vo Thi Sau, through poetry and literature since I was very young..., this Tet I finally got to see, feel and was deeply moved. I felt very lucky to have such a meaningful trip on the first day of the year!
Con Dao welcomed me with the warm early morning sunshine, the scent of the sea, both salty and cool. Landing at Con Son airport on February 17 (the 8th day of Tet), I saw Dam Trau beach appearing like a pearl in the middle of the ocean, worthy of being one of the 25 most beautiful bays in the world.
Each historical relic in Con Dao leaves countless emotions in the hearts of visitors.
The closer you get to the center, Con Dao gradually appears with its wild, rustic but extremely beautiful features, with a clean coastline shaded by the canopy of the banyan trees. Walking along the historical roads with Con Dao Museum, the relics of the Island Lord's house, the relics of the Stork Department, the prison row, the tiger cages over a hundred years old, Con Dao appears strong and resilient.
There is no word perfect enough to describe the sacredness and mystery of this land of Con Lon: Where people from everywhere flock to pay tribute to national heroes, where blue sea - white sand - golden sunshine exist, where the kind smiles of the people are always present on their lips...

Con Dao appeared before my eyes beyond my expectations, calm and gentle, fierce and resilient, vibrant and bustling. All the nuances spread from early morning to late afternoon.

The first moment I visited the grave of Vo Thi Sau and the martyrs at Hang Duong cemetery, I clearly felt the solemn atmosphere here.
To gain a deeper understanding of the historical stages of the land and its people from more than 113 years ago, we visited Con Dao Museum, which attracts not only domestic visitors but also many international tourists.
The museum tour guide enthusiastically led and introduced 5 main locations: Con Dao Museum, 2 tiger cages, Lord Island Palace, Phu Hai prison camp... After the journey, we cherished every moment standing here, on the land that has been completely independent of the nation after so many years.
Con Dao promotes and propagates environmental protection very effectively.
The second day trip found a peaceful place with a walk on the long coastline of Con Dao administrative center, enjoying a fresh coconut and a sweet smoothie. What a precious simple happiness.
An impressive point of Con Dao is that the local government maintains and develops environmental protection awareness very well. Everywhere, organic and inorganic waste is classified in an organized manner. Propaganda signs are placed in many visible places and people voluntarily comply.
Con Dao specialties are diverse and rich in the flavor of the sea.
At the end of the trip, we did not forget to reward ourselves with local culinary experiences in Con Dao with many seafood specialties (such as snails, snails, shrimp and crab), fatty Con Dao coconut ice cream as well as many delicious dishes such as banh xeo, banh khot, bun rieu, banh mi xiu mai... An impressive thing is that wherever people go, they always sell with a smile on their lips.

Thank you for a journey that ended with only memories of a sea that was not just a sea. I wish I could come back to continue the journey of exploring coral reefs, the turtle spawning season and Con Dao National Park.
