"New look" for Ha Long flower park

It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2024, Ha Long City will renovate Ha Long Flower Park (Bach Dang Ward) into a park that blooms brilliantly throughout the four seasons. This is also one of the city's main solutions in realizing the project "Ha Long - City of Flowers".

Ha Long Flower Park is located right on the shore of beautiful Ha Long Bay.

Ha Long Flower Park has an area of ​​18 hectares, located right on the shore of the beautiful Ha Long Bay. With its beautiful location, Ha Long Flower Park is considered by many tourists to be one of the most beautiful parks in Vietnam . This is also a project designed by a famous Spanish architect Salvador Perez Arroy, the author of large architectural works such as: Quang Ninh Museum - Library; Quang Ninh Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace ...

Ha Long Flower Park is divided into 8 functional areas, including Long Phung Square; Flower Square; Themed Art Flower Square; Flower, Water and Wind Square; Outdoor Entertainment and Sports Area... The entire Ha Long Flower Park is covered with green trees and colorful blooming flowers; inside there are low grassy hills like miniature plains.

The 8 functional areas are also divided reasonably, each area brings different and interesting experiences. In particular, the park also has an elevated walkway with a length of up to 1,000m, a height of 2.7-3.5m. When walking on this unique bridge, people can admire the green space with many types of grass, flowers, leaves and the majestic and poetic scenery of Ha Long Bay. An interesting point is that this is also one of the few parks in the country without a solid fence surrounding it so that visitors and residents can enter and exit the park from all sides, all 4 sides have very convenient car parking. The uniqueness of Ha Long Flower Park has turned this place into not only a place for entertainment, exercise, and picnics for Ha Long people, but also an ideal destination for tourists to stop and visit.

However, after a long time of use, in many areas, the topsoil layer used to grow grass and shrubs was only 10-20cm thick, which has been weathered over time and is not rich in nutrients for plants to grow well. Many areas of land are contaminated with salt due to reverse osmosis when it rains, making plants unable to survive. Despite its large area, the park has not yet been arranged with artistically shaped stone slabs to create a highlight for the park. All of the current seats are mainly low-quality granite benches, in small quantities, not meeting the needs of the people, and there are no swings for people and tourists to take photos and "check in".

To continue to make Ha Long Flower Park a highlight in the heart of the city, a check-in point for people and tourists when visiting, Ha Long City decided to renovate and plant more flowering trees so that all four seasons of the year, the Park is brilliant with the colors of flowers.

The proposed plan is to renovate shrub beds that are not suitable for the soil and old, poorly developed trees; renovate and supplement seasonal flower beds; plant additional, replace, and change the location of some shade trees with flowering shade trees (wind chinh, tuong vi, bang lang). Along with that, create highlights by placing artistic stone slabs, stone benches, swings in suitable locations; install decorative LED lighting systems at 31 flower arches..., with a total estimated investment of about 11 billion VND. Currently, the City People's Committee has assigned the City Public Service Management Board to be the investor and carry out the next steps. It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2024, the investor will renovate the park according to the design plan approved by the City People's Committee.

Hopefully, the project to renovate Ha Long Flower Park will soon be implemented so that Ha Long Flower Park will become the "heart" of the city, increasing the attraction for tourists when coming to Ha Long.
