The Cu De River is considered to have great potential for developing inland waterway tourism thanks to its beautiful natural landscape, still retaining its wild features, associated with many cultural and historical elements.
Therefore, Da Nang voters have proposed that the city soon have a policy to invest in exploiting the tourism potential along the Cu De River to develop the economy.
Recently, the Department of Tourism has responded to the above content.
Accordingly, the approved Project on developing inland waterway tourism in the city until 2030, with a vision to 2045, identifies the development of inland waterway tourism in Lien Chieu district (Da Nang) in the period of 2024-2030, specifically with the Cu De River - Truong Dinh River tourist route.
This route is oriented to develop in the western eco-tourism space of the city with the areas of Lang Van, Khe Ram and the reservoir combined with tourism services (the area south of Bac River), connecting along Cu De River and tourist spots along the river and Hon Chao.
Focus on developing inland waterway tourism, orienting the network of water sports and entertainment activities in rivers and reservoirs.

Regarding the development of waterway tourism routes, we will develop and exploit Cu De river tourism routes to Da Nang Bay - Hon Chao - Son Tra peninsula and develop and exploit waterway tourism routes on Cu De river connecting Hoa Vang district, associated with ecological, agricultural and rural destinations.
Also according to the Department of Tourism, the investment orientation for inland waterway wharves on the Cu De River - Truong Dinh River tourist route includes: completing investment in a large-scale wharf north of Nam O Bridge, serving a variety of boats operating to Da Nang Bay and continuing to visit Hon Chao, Son Tra Peninsula area at permitted locations.

Complete investment in the Golden Tunnel wharf area on the Cu De River about 1 km from Nam O Bridge, and the Khe Ram wharf area.
Complete investment in a number of piers at tourist destinations along the Cu De River, including 2 soft wharf construction sites at Ba Temple and Thuy Tu Village Communal House at Ham Vang Wharf.
At the same time, review some planned inland waterway terminal locations under private projects to continue supporting investment to form waterway tourist terminals and rest stops in the Golden Hills City and expanded Golden Hills City project areas.
The Department of Tourism believes that currently, investment in forming inland waterway tourism routes is still limited, unsynchronized, lacking in boats, wharf infrastructure, and lacking connecting services along the river... Therefore, the city is focusing on attracting investment and promoting tourism activities.
