What will students majoring in Textile and Garment Technology (Garment Technology Training Program at HaUI) learn?

The garment technology training program will equip students with basic to advanced knowledge in this field. Students will learn basic knowledge and skills in the industry of costume art, fashion composition, costume graphic design, textile materials, etc.;

Students are equipped with knowledge and professional skills such as pattern design, industrial production and sewing, completing costumes from basic to advanced such as shirts, skirts... to jackets, vests, coats and modified costumes, traditional ao dai,...

Knowledge of other types of industrial sewing products using commonly used methods and designing 2D, 3D patterns, jumping patterns, cutting diagrams on computers with specialized software of the sewing industry such as Lectra, Gerber, ... as well as knowledge of types of technological equipment used in the sewing industry are also equipped for students in the course.

In addition, students are equipped with knowledge, skills and professional capacity in designing and organizing industrial garment production such as scientific labor organization, sewing line design and operation, garment production technology, garment order management, production management, garment product quality management, and production improvement in the garment industry.

From there, after graduation, students can apply this rich knowledge, skills and professional capacity to the design, organization and implementation of production in Industrial Garment with modern means, equipment and techniques at factories.

The sewing technology training program at Hanoi University of Industry is designed according to the CDIO approach and has been operating for more than 20 years, achieving National quality accreditation certification.

There have been over 2,000 engineers and bachelors who have graduated from this training program. 98% of Garment Technology graduates have jobs after one year. Many alumni are successful and hold important positions in the textile and garment industry.

The Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design is located in Building B7, Campus 2 of Hanoi University of Industry (Tay Tuu Ward, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi). The Faculty is fully equipped with classrooms with air conditioning, projectors, lighting and sound systems, equipment for studying and researching,...

The Faculty currently has Product Development Research Labs, Textile Technology Labs, Textile Materials and Dyeing Chemistry Labs; Design Practice Rooms, 7 Sewing Technology Practice Workshops, Studio Room, Production Preparation Room, Cutting Room, High-Tech Equipment Room with full range of modern technological equipment serving practical training, experiments and specialized scientific research.

In addition to the classroom system, the school also has a multi-purpose hall to serve extracurricular activities for the school's students such as basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, etc. The campus is spacious and airy with many shady trees and beautiful flowers and ornamental plants. The school library has more than 30,000 books in all fields and majors.

Technical design: Is a job that requires creativity, carefulness, and a full understanding of fine arts and technical design, and garment technology. Students can design, model, and cut garment products for industrial garment production, and can work in technical departments of garment and fashion enterprises.

This is an important job position in garment and fashion companies and is in great need of high-quality human resources, talented people with deep knowledge and skilled skills. Therefore, the salary for this job position is quite attractive.

Research and development of garment and fashion products: This is a very important job position for the development and maintenance of competitiveness of garment and fashion enterprises in the market and is still very new in Vietnam.

The work required in this position is very diverse, from researching consumer needs, fashion trends, researching factory production capacity, etc. to proposing and selecting new, creative textile and garment product designs with innovation in technical design and production technology to put into mass production, in order to best meet the needs of an increasingly diverse, rich and rapidly changing market.

Technology design: In this job position, the employee will research, develop and improve product sewing technology processes, design, organize and manage sewing lines, production workshops, and build technical documents for industrial sewing production.

Garment order management: The job of this position is to receive and analyze customer orders; develop pricing plans, develop technical documents for production and evaluate the quality of trial products, create management plans, order production plans, and resolve problems arising during the order execution process at garment factories.

Quality management and quality assurance in the textile, garment and fashion industry: Includes tasks such as product quality inspection, development and implementation of processes to ensure the quality of textile and fashion products according to customer, business, national or international standards during the production process or throughout the textile and fashion product supply chain.

Production planning and coordination: The job of this position is to plan production for stages and departments in the factory, determine raw material needs, manage inventory, etc.

Production Manager: The job of this position is to manage and operate production activities to ensure the plan, progress of production orders in the factory and the quality of the products of the orders as well as improve and enhance productivity and efficiency of production organization in the factory.
