Opening of the exhibition 'Hai Phong - Illuminating the heritage land'

“This is an extremely important event that contributes to awakening and promoting the potential of precious heritage hidden in Hai Phong to introduce to friends nationwide and internationally, especially the people of Da Nang city. Hai Phong today not only develops strongly in economy, industry, and seaports but is also a major tourist center of the country associated with the typical tourism products of the coastal city and historical and cultural relics; at the same time, strengthening and consolidating the cooperative relationship between the two museums”, said Director of Hai Phong Museum and Library Bui Thi Nguyet Nga.

The exhibition displays more than 200 images and documents, divided into 3 main parts. Part 1, with the theme "Colors of Hai Phong's marine cultural heritage", introduces the unique features of the marine cultural heritage created and passed down throughout history through images and documents showing the beauty of Hai Phong's seas and islands with prehistoric marine cultural sites, colorful marine festivals and coastal melodies.

Part 2 with the theme “Hai Phong - Strength and power in the era of rising up” introduces the birth of the historic city of Hai Phong since the end of the 19th century as well as the achievements and imprints of Hai Phong in all areas of economic, cultural, social, national defense and security development. Part 3 with the theme “Hai Phong - Da Nang: 65 years of affection” introduces the close and lasting bond between Hai Phong city and Da Nang city formed during the resistance war against the US to save the country; at the same time, introduces the cooperation, attachment, and sharing of experiences in socio-economic development between the two localities over the past 65 years.
