Japanese training ship visits Da Nang city

The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's training ship Suzunami, led by Colonel Mizuno Tatsuhito, Commander of Training Ship Squadron No. 12, along with 230 officers and crew members, docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a courtesy visit to Da Nang city.

Attending the welcoming ceremony, on the Vietnamese side were representatives of the city's Department of Foreign Affairs, the Naval Region 3 Command, the City Military Command, the City Border Guard Command and relevant authorities. On the Japanese side, there was Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang.

During their visit to Da Nang, the delegation paid courtesy visits to leaders of the city People's Committee and the Naval Region 3 Command; participated in sports exchanges with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3; practiced together at sea and visited local historical and cultural sites.

The visit aims to strengthen cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Japanese Ministry of Defense in general, and between the Vietnamese Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in particular.
