Opening of Hue Festival Trade Fair 2024

On the evening of September 16, at Thuong Bac Park, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue, the opening ceremony of the Hue Festival 2024 Trade Fair (fair) took place. The Hue Festival 2024 Trade Fair is an activity under the National Trade Promotion Program in 2024 chaired by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade; The Center for Investment, Trade and Enterprise Support of Thua Thien Hue in coordination with the Trade Promotion Agency co-organized.

The fair took place from September 16 to 22, gathering more than 230 booths of 231 participating organizations and enterprises nationwide; in addition to displaying and introducing economic, cultural and social achievements, commercial products, craft village products, OCOP products, specialties... of Thua Thien Hue and the provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highlands region in particular, the whole country in general, the fair is also an opportunity to share experiences, promote trade, expand investment cooperation, link in production, expand consumer markets...

In his opening speech, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong - Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee said: Hue Festival Trade Fair 2024 is a trade promotion activity of practical significance, an opportunity for provinces and cities to introduce their potential, strengths, economic, cultural and social achievements; linking trade promotion, investment, culture and tourism; promoting product brands; promoting trade cooperation in many aspects...

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, in addition to promoting trade, creating conditions for businesses, cooperatives, and production establishments of localities to cooperate in investment, business, and product brand promotion; helping businesses build production and business plans and strategies to meet domestic market demand and export orientation..., it is also necessary to promote the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"; create favorable conditions for consumers to access and purchase prestigious and quality products. The fair contributes to creating a highlight to attract tourists and promote the landscape, people of the ancient capital and world cultural heritages to friends near and far.

In order to support and share the difficulties and losses with the people of the Northern provinces affected by storm No. 3 and floods caused by the storm's circulation, the Organizing Committee has combined to organize volunteer activities to replace the cultural and entertainment activities during the fair.

“This year’s fair takes place about a week after Typhoon Yagi made landfall in the northern region of our country. The leaders of the Party, government, people, and business community of Thua Thien Hue deeply understand and share with the people of the localities that have just suffered the devastation of Typhoon No. 3. Currently, organizations, individuals, and business communities in the province have been and continue to actively implement support activities with the hope that people in the affected localities will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. And, the contributions of organizations and individuals participating in this fair are activities of important, special, and different significance compared to all previous fairs,” emphasized Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Quy Phuong.

Within the framework of the Fair, a Conference on connecting supply and demand between Thua Thien Hue province and other provinces and cities in 2024 will take place on the afternoon of September 17.
