Opening of unique cultural, sports and tourism activities of ethnic groups in the Northeast region

(Fatherland) - On the morning of November 2, at Chi Lang Park, Hung Vuong Street, Lang Son City, the Organizing Committee of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son Province in 2024 held the opening ceremony of cultural, sports and tourism activities within the framework of the Festival.

Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Northeastern provinces, there was Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Festival Steering Committee. On behalf of Lang Son province, there was Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee.

Delegates attended the opening ceremony of cultural, sports and tourism activities within the framework of the Festival.

Attending the event were members of the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee of the Festival; the Council for evaluating the contents of mass culture, arts and tourism; the Organizing Committee of sports competitions; delegations of officials, artisans, actors, tour guides and athletes from 8 provinces participating in the festival; and units participating in displays and exhibitions at the Festival.

The 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival with the participation of 8 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang with more than 400 officials, artisans, actors, tour guides, and athletes attending.

In her opening speech, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung said that the activities of the Festival create a particularly meaningful cultural space, so that artisans, actors and athletes of the Northeast ethnic groups have the opportunity and conditions to meet, exchange and share experiences in preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional values, contributing to building Vietnamese culture and people, creating motivation to realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy and Permanent Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Duong Xuan Huyen presented flags to delegations of artisans from provinces attending the Festival.

Coming to the Festival, people and tourists can experience many cultural and sports activities rich in identity such as: Mass art festival; traditional ethnic costume performance; performance, introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals; exhibition, introduction, promotion of local traditional culture; display, processing and introduction of culinary arts...

Locals and tourists can also admire the beauty of traditional costumes, enjoy folk songs and dances that captivate the hearts of people; immerse themselves in the festival space associated with the spiritual life and beliefs of ethnic minorities through the skillful and talented performances of artisans; experience sports and folk games; discover the beauty of the people, the land of Lang Son and the provinces participating in the Festival.

The activities of the Festival create a particularly meaningful cultural space, for cultural subjects, artisans, actors, and athletes of ethnic groups in the Northeast region to have the opportunity to meet, exchange, and share valuable experiences in preserving, maintaining, and promoting traditional cultural values; create national solidarity, promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups in the Northeast region. Thereby, contributing to preserving and raising the sense of responsibility of the ethnic community in building and developing the culture and people of the Northeast region in particular and Vietnam in general; promote and publicize the potential and advantages of the Northeast provinces, attract tourism development and other fields.

Activities introducing the unique culture of ethnic communities participating in the Festival

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented flowers and souvenir flags to the artisans, actors and athletes of 8 Northeastern provinces; approved the decision and introduced the Appraisal Council to evaluate mass cultural and artistic activities, and the Organizing Committee for sports competitions in the Festival.

Immediately after the opening program of cultural, sports and tourism activities within the framework of the Festival, the delegations entered into exchanges and performed many attractive and unique cultural, sports and tourism activities.

At 8:00 p.m. tonight, November 2, the opening ceremony of the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival will take place at the main stage of Hung Vuong Street, Chi Lang Ward, Lang Son City. The program will be broadcast live on VTV2; rebroadcast on VTV5, Vietnam Television and radio and television stations of 8 provinces and cities participating in the Festival. The highlight of the opening ceremony is the art program with the theme "Northeast - Pride and Shine". The art program includes 3 chapters: Chapter 1: Colors of the Northeast; Chapter 2: Northeast - Glorious epic; Chapter 3: Northeast - Pride and Shine.

Introducing the culture of ethnic groups in the Northeast region at the Festival

The 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival takes place from November 2 to November 4, 2024. Within the framework of the Festival, many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities will take place, including: performances and introductions of festival excerpts, traditional ethnic cultural rituals; displays and exhibitions to introduce and promote traditional cultural products, cuisine and tourism of localities; mass art festivals and costumes performances of Northeast ethnic groups; competitions in tug of war, stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing, stilt walking; tour guide skills demonstrations; scientific seminar "Northeast cultural tourism - source and development".../.
