Inauguration of Da Nang Museum and construction of Uncle Ho statue at General Science Library

Da Nang Museum has a system of scientific and aesthetic displays and interpretations and modern facilities, with nearly 3,000 documents and artifacts out of 27,000 documents and artifacts owned by the museum.

On March 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the inauguration ceremony of the new Da Nang Museum and built a statue of Uncle Ho at the city's General Science Library.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the City People's Committee, said that the newly inaugurated Da Nang Museum is a meaningful and important cultural project in a series of projects and events to celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), towards the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

In 2020, the city decided to move the Da Nang Museum out of the Dien Hai Citadel Special National Monument and use the headquarters of the City People's Council at 42 and 44 Bach Dang Street (formerly the Governor's Palace, built in the late 1890s) as the new museum.

This is a decision of historical significance, marking a turning point in the journey of building, preserving and promoting cultural values ​​bearing the heritage mark of Da Nang in particular and Quang Nam in general; receiving the consensus and support of the city government and people as well as domestic cultural and historical researchers.

According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh, when renovating and constructing the Museum from a particularly important historical building, the city's functional agencies conducted careful research to preserve it in the most complete way.

The project has met the functions of a modern museum, with digital technology applications, creating visual and vivid effects; vivid approaches and interpretations, interactive spaces, connecting emotions and intelligence to help visitors explore and experience for themselves.

The museum owns a warehouse for preserving artifacts according to modern museum standards, adding areas to serve the needs of community learning according to world trends such as an educational area for children, open warehouse displays, etc.

Da Nang Museum has a system of scientific and aesthetic displays and interpretations and modern facilities, with nearly 3,000 documents and artifacts out of 27,000 documents and artifacts owned by the museum, combining traditional display style with modern projection technology, especially the application of 3D Mapping films, 3D films, documentaries, image slides to increase the experience and interaction for visitors...

At the ceremony, the city government also announced the groundbreaking of the project to build a statue of Uncle Ho in the General Science Library. The project aims to honor and praise the life and career of Uncle Ho.

The statue of Uncle Ho is placed in the middle of the Library campus, measuring 2.7m x 1.8m x 1.7m, made of gray-white marble. Behind the statue is a bas-relief arranged from 5 panels measuring 15m x 4.05m, depicting the image of Khue Van Cac in the middle and the image of Ngu Hanh Son - a special national monument of Da Nang city on both sides, made of gray granite.

Upon completion of the project, the General Science Library will be a unique cultural venue for people and domestic and foreign tourists to Da Nang to admire and remember Uncle Ho, thereby widely propagating and educating the tradition of studiousness and fostering the spirit of learning and reading for the city's young generations; contributing to the development of reading culture.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, delegates and many locals and tourists visited the Da Nang Museum at its new location./.
