The event was organized by the Vietnam Cinema Association on the morning of March 28, in Ho Chi Minh City. This is also an activity to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese revolutionary cinema industry (March 15, 1953), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

On this occasion, the Vietnam Cinema Association organized the awarding of the "For the cause of cinema" medal to members - cinema activists who performed the duties of cameramen, reporters, projectionists, shock troops... at the battlefields: B (B4: Tri Thien Hue, B2: Nam Bo - where the Liberation Army Film Studio was established, B3: Zone 5), C (Laos), K (Cambodia) during the period of fighting against the US to save the country from 1954 to April 30, 1975.

The Association also awarded Commemorative Medals to members of the Executive Committee from the first term (1970) to the present; artists awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, the State Prize; People's Artists, Meritorious Artists and a number of officials who have made positive contributions to the development of the Vietnam Cinema Association. A total of 122 individuals were awarded Commemorative Medals during this period.
Present at the ceremony were many familiar faces of generations of people working in the city's cinema. These include: People's Artist Tra Giang, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Luan Kim, People's Artist Kim Xuan, People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi, People's Artist My Uyen, Meritorious Artist Thuy Lien, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phuong Dien, Meritorious Artist Nham Minh Hien, Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen... along with many veteran artists who have silently stood behind the camera lens.

Many artists were unable to attend the ceremony due to old age or living far away. At the event, guests also observed a minute of silence to remember the generations of people working in the film industry who have passed away in recent times.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, acknowledged and honored the contributions of generations of people working in the film industry through the ages.
At the same time, it is affirmed that the film soldiers were present in all battlefields to record valuable and heroic films that became priceless assets of the nation. They also brought those films to show in all parts of the country to serve the people and soldiers.

“We are proud to have many labor heroes, artist soldiers who have become teachers, People's Artists, and Meritorious Artists. Many artists and members of the Cinema Association, both living and deceased, have created the face of Vietnamese cinema, with many international and domestic awards,” Mr. Do Lenh Hung Tu emphasized.

Previously, on March 15, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cinema Association also held the first ceremony to present the Commemorative Medal for the Cinema Career to generations of filmmakers.
In the coming time, the Association will continue to organize the next donation rounds.
