According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, in the first 5 months of the year, the socio-economic situation in the province was generally stable. Agricultural production took place in quite favorable weather conditions. Spring rice productivity reached the highest ever, with output reaching over 350,000 tons, up 5% over the same period.

Trade and service activities grew quite steadily. Total retail sales of goods in the first 5 months reached nearly 23,600 billion VND, up more than 19% over the same period last year. Export turnover reached 1.1 billion USD, up 49% over the same period last year.
Total budget revenue in the area in the first 5 months reached 7,484 billion VND, reaching 39% of the estimate, equal to 82% of the same period. Disbursement of public investment reached 1,573/8,442 billion VND, equal to 18.6% of the plan.

Industrial production and investment and business activities are still facing difficulties. The industrial production index for the first 5 months decreased by 0.78% compared to the same period in 2022. In the first 5 months, 507 new enterprises were established with a total registered capital of nearly VND 1,786 billion (decreased in both quantity and total registered capital compared to the same period); 205 enterprises resumed operations (down 10%); 363 enterprises temporarily suspended operations (up 26%); 97 enterprises dissolved (up 70%).
The cultural and social fields received attention and focus. The Ha Tinh sports delegation achieved high results at the 32nd SEA Games. The civil service recruitment exam was well organized. Activities to care for people's health, care for their lives, and create jobs... were fully and effectively implemented.
In the first months of the year, the province also focused on directing the work of compensation, site clearance, and resettlement of the North-South expressway project through Ha Tinh; successfully organized a conference to announce the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and promote investment; promoted administrative reform; strengthened foreign affairs...

Discussing at the meeting, delegates evaluated and analyzed the achieved results, clarified difficulties and limitations related to State budget collection activities, production and business activities; disbursement of public investment capital; progress of site clearance, implementation of key projects, etc.
Delegates also proposed many solutions to effectively implement socio-economic development goals in June as well as the whole year of 2023.
Mr. Nguyen Van Viet - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development: Requesting localities to urge the completion of summer-autumn rice production before June 10 to ensure crop safety.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to continue to overcome difficulties, focus on tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in June and the plan for the whole year of 2023. The focus is on drastic budget collection, preventing tax losses; promoting administrative reform, digital transformation; directing the handling of outstanding issues; strictly managing the activities of construction material mines, ensuring material sources for key projects; urging contractors to take advantage of favorable weather to actively carry out construction to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital.

In the immediate future, sectors and localities must seriously implement the saving of household electricity and decorative lighting to ensure electricity for production; focus on summer-autumn crop production to ensure progress.
