This was shared by Mr. Li Bingjun, Governor of the People's Government of Guizhou Province (China) when answering a question from a reporter from the People's Daily stationed in China about the prospects for cooperation between this locality and Vietnam and ASEAN countries, at the open discussion session of the Guizhou Provincial National Assembly Delegation held on June 3.
According to Mr. Ly Binh Quan, there are many effective cooperation fields and projects between Guizhou province (China) and Vietnam, typically the investment project of Guizhou Tire Group in Tien Giang province implemented since 2017, which started construction of the third phase of the factory last year, becoming a testament to the deepening of cooperation between this locality and ASEAN countries.
Guizhou is an inland province in southwestern China. It used to be a backward region in terms of transportation and had a weak industrial base, and did not have the conditions to open up to exchange and cooperate with the outside world. In recent years, with the construction of new land and sea routes in the west, as well as the China-Laos railway and the China-Europe railway system, Guizhou has been able to effectively connect and open up to cooperate with Southeast Asian countries and the European region.
Governor Li Bingjun said that Guizhou Province regards Southeast Asia as the main direction in international exchange and cooperation, and will promote the utilization and maximum exploitation of the space and potential for cooperation that is still very large.
Accordingly, this locality will promote economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN countries , bringing advantageous products such as tea, new energy batteries, new energy cars, and tires to penetrate the ASEAN market and importing more high-quality products from ASEAN.
Along with that, Guizhou will make good use of the ASEAN-China Education Exchange Week event , which has been held for the past 17 years, to expand cooperation in human resources, industry and economy-trade by attracting a large number of ASEAN students to study, creating new momentum for the traditional friendship between the two sides.
According to the head of the Guizhou provincial government, the locality also wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam and ASEAN countries in infrastructure construction, especially transportation projects such as bridges, tunnels, roads, and hydropower plants, which are advantages in which enterprises in this province have a lot of experience; promote tourism cooperation, to exploit the complementary advantages of destinations, natural conditions, and culture between the two sides.
