Israeli police suspect it was a terrorist attack when a truck crashed into a bus that was stopping at a bus stop to pick up and drop off passengers.

The truck driver was shot and “neutralized” by Israeli civilians. Sixteen victims of the incident were taken to hospital, four of whom are in critical condition.

The Glilot area is home to the headquarters of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad along with several intelligence units of the Israel Defense Forces, including signals intelligence unit 8200.

In a related development, on the same day, the Israeli army called on people in 14 villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately and move north of the Awali River.

The call came as Israel carried out strikes on Iranian military targets in retaliation for the October 1 missile attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel's airstrikes on Iran were "precise and powerful" and achieved all of their objectives. "We promised to respond to the Iranian attack and on October 26 we did... The attack on Iran was precise and powerful and achieved all of its objectives," Netanyahu said during a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on October 7, according to the Hebrew calendar.

On October 1, Iran launched about 200 missiles at Israel, although most were intercepted by air defense systems. "Iran attacked Israel with hundreds of ballistic missiles and the attack failed," Netanyahu said.

Meanwhile, Iran confirmed that Israel had targeted military facilities around the capital Tehran and in other provinces, but said the air strikes had caused only "limited damage".
