Many iPhone 16 pro users are alarmed, their battery is abnormally weak after updating to iOS 18.
Although Apple confidently advertises that the iPhone 16 Pro has a battery life that is 4 hours better than its predecessor, the 15 Pro, many users are complaining about the device's unusual battery drain. Notably, many people believe that the cause may come from the iOS 18 update.
Severe battery drain
According to a report from MacRumors, many owners of the brand new iPhone 16 Pro are facing a battery situation that is not as expected. Specifically, one user shared that even without connecting the Apple Watch, his phone still dropped from 70% to 59% after only 4 hours and 20 minutes of sleep. Another case said the battery dropped from 100% to 60% after only half a day of normal use. Some people even reported that the phone drained battery at a rate of 1% every 5 minutes even when in standby mode.

Compared to the previous generation
A notable comparison was made between the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro with the same usage for 36 hours. Results:
- iPhone 16 Pro: Battery 58% left
- iPhone 14 Pro: Battery up to 85%
Question about the "culprit" iOS 18
Based on user feedback, many experts believe that the problem may lie in the iOS 18 operating system. Although Apple has released the iOS 18.0.1 update to fix the problem, the abnormal battery drain problem still seems to have not been completely resolved.
Particularly worrying is the phenomenon of "self-draining battery" when not in use - many users report that their phones lose 10-15% of their battery overnight without any activity.
This situation is frustrating for many users, especially considering the high price of the iPhone 16 Pro and the promise of superior battery life from Apple. Users are now waiting for an official response from Apple and an actual effective update to address this issue.
