Recently, a leak from analyst Ming-chi Kuo revealed quite interesting news related to Xiaomi 16 Pro. Accordingly, the device may have a 3D printed frame.
However, 3D printing is not necessarily the most efficient manufacturing process because it builds objects layer by layer, which slows down production. Additionally, its manufacturing costs can be higher than other conventional methods.
But Kuo believes smartphone makers could adopt 3D printing more if its advantages outweigh its disadvantages, especially in applications where efficiency isn't a primary concern.
Previously, leaker Digital Chat Station said that Xiaomi 16 Pro will have a flat screen with super thin and uniform bezels on all 4 sides. The screen could be a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED panel, 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Notably, this screen is equipped with LIPO technology, which makes the bezel thinner and more symmetrical. Leaker also claims that the Xiaomi 16 Pro's screen bezel will surpass the iPhone 16 Pro - the device rumored to have the thinnest bezel in the world.
Xiaomi 16 Pro is expected to launch with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor in October 2025.
