According to the memorandum of understanding recently signed, ICAEW and UFM have established a strategic partnership and will work closely together to organize many practical programs for lecturers and students in the coming time. ICAEW, with the advantage of being a long-standing international professional organization in the field of finance and accounting, will coordinate with UFM to implement programs to improve the professional capacity of the school's teaching staff. To realize this goal, the two sides will periodically organize seminars to update the latest knowledge on finance and management; coordinate in implementing research projects, as well as jointly implement scientific or training activities.

The most important content of the agreement just signed is that the two sides will coordinate to organize programs to equip professional skills according to international standards, bringing open career development opportunities for UFM students in the context of the current global financial labor market integration. Accordingly, ICAEW will periodically organize practical knowledge sharing sessions, as well as implement field trips to experience the professional working environment at Big4, and ICAEW's partner businesses for UFM students.

In addition, ICAEW will provide scholarships to support UFM’s talented students, and provide free training courses to enhance their capacity and equip them with necessary professional skills, as well as practical experience. This is one of ICAEW’s important commitments to accompany and support UFM’s talented students towards a successful future in their financial and business careers.

The partnership will also provide opportunities for UFM students to participate in ICAEW academic competitions held nationally and regionally. In particular, the two parties will work towards further training and encourage UFM students to participate in ICAEW global exams.

Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang - ICAEW Chief Representative in Vietnam hopes that with the efforts of both sides, this 5-year memorandum of understanding will be implemented in the most effective way. “We are very pleased to accompany the University of Finance and Marketing on its journey to fulfill its mission of training high-quality human resources according to national and international standards. With its international resources and experience, ICAEW believes that this strategic cooperation will contribute to improving the quality of UFM student training according to international standards, while enhancing the position of the school.”

At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat - President of UFM shared about the school's development strategy for the period 2021-2030 and the vision to 2045, especially the goal of becoming the leading application-oriented higher education institution in Vietnam and the ASEAN region. "The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between UFM and ICAEW today opens up great opportunities for UFM lecturers and students to study and practice their profession in an environment with the best conditions for developing professional capacity, increasing employment opportunities after graduation. I hope that after today's signing ceremony, the two sides will quickly implement other agreed cooperation contents so that the cooperation is highly effective", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat said.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Will Lawrenson - Deputy Consul General of the UK in Ho Chi Minh City said that enhancing professional qualifications in the accounting profession is essential for the economy and for Vietnam's development aspirations. He also emphasized that the new relationship between ICAEW and UFM is very meaningful in enhancing professional skills in accounting and finance for Vietnamese students. "The UK Government strongly supports this cooperation with ICAEW and I believe that this cooperation will contribute to the future prosperity of Vietnam", the Deputy Consul General of the UK expressed.

ICAEW is a long-standing international professional organization in the field of finance and accounting, currently with 195,800 members and students working and studying in 154 countries around the world. Present in Vietnam since 2015, one of ICAEW's core goals is to contribute to the development of the finance and accounting industry through promoting the training of high-quality human resources that meet international standards. After more than 9 years of operation, ICAEW is currently cooperating with more than 20 universities nationwide, of which 11 leading universities of economics and finance in Vietnam have integrated the ICAEW CFAB certificate into their training programs.
