(PLVN) - In order to focus on natural disaster prevention and ensure safety for tourists, Mu Cang Chai district - Yen Bai stopped the program to announce Vietnamese heritage trees and copyrights of festivals.
According to information from the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district - Yen Bai, during this time, the district will still have moderate and heavy rain, accompanied by the risk of landslides, flash floods and flash floods.
The program to announce the decision to recognize Vietnamese heritage trees and the copyright of Mu Cang Chai district's festivals must be temporarily suspended to focus on natural disaster prevention, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters while also ensuring the safety of visitors to the district.
Only activities including the Mong people's New Rice Celebration on October 12 and the 2024 "MU CANG CHAI ULTRA TRAIL" Marathon will continue to be organized by Mu Cang Chai district.

Previously, on August 30, Mr. Tran Xuan Duong, Head of Mu Cang Chai - Yen Bai Forest Protection Department, said that the Management Board of Species and Habitat Conservation Area of Mu Cang Chai district had just organized the placement of a sign recognizing Heritage Trees in the Ta Cay Dang area of Na Hang village, Che Tao commune, Mu Cang Chai district.
Two trees recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees include one Po Mu tree and one Northeast Ironwood tree. These two trees are currently protected in Ta Cay Dang area, Na Hang village, Che Tao commune, Mu Cang Chai district.
In the face of the complicated situation of storms and floods, on September 11, the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district issued Official Dispatch No. 176 on postponing the organization of the first Son Tra Festival, the Golden Season Festival in 2024 and the Mu Cang Chai Tourism Workshop - Destination "Identity - Safety - Friendliness" scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 12.
