Linking the development of Binh Dinh tourism products and connecting railway tourism products from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa

This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Dinh province, aiming to create opportunities and enhance cooperation between international travel companies in Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh and major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as exploit the potential and strengths of the province's tourism resources in connection with localities and travel businesses nationwide, especially exploiting railway routes connecting localities in the region.

The workshop took place with 3 sessions including: Introduction to the potential, products, and tourism stimulus policies of Binh Dinh; discussions and speeches by delegates attending the workshop and connecting businesses of the Binh Dinh Tourism Association.

Within the framework of the workshop, delegates contributed many ideas for Binh Dinh province to exploit more effectively its potential and advantages, creating a diversity of tourism products; closely coordinating between the railway industry, travel agencies, tourist areas and destinations and state management agencies to build attractive tourism products, combining rail transport and diverse experiential services, such as: Resorts, exploring local culture and cuisine , etc.

Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province, said: Railway tourism is a new product that helps tourists explore the natural beauty, culture and history of the regions. This is a tourism product that is starting to be favored by tourists, especially international tourists.

The advantage of Binh Dinh is that it is located on the North-South railway line and has Dieu Tri station as a stopover point for trains. The calculation of exploiting chapter trains/chapter trains to serve tourists is very convenient. Therefore, to exploit this advantage more effectively, there needs to be close coordination between the railway industry, travel agencies, tourist destinations and state management agencies, at the same time building attractive tourism products, combining rail transport and diverse experiential services such as resorts, exploring local culture and cuisine.

Binh Dinh Tourism Association and a number of Tourism Associations, Travel Associations, and tourism businesses of provinces and cities signed agreements on cooperation in developing tourism products.

According to Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Binh Dinh is one of the localities with favorable conditions to develop railway tourism thanks to its strategic location on the North-South railway, rich natural landscapes and many attractive tourist destinations.

In particular, the railway line passing through the coastal area is the basis for exploiting coastal sightseeing trains, combined with resort tourism. At the same time, beautiful beaches can be connected to the train station through the shuttle bus system. In addition, the Cham cultural heritage system and the sites associated with the history of Tay Son - Nguyen Hue are also unmissable stops on the train journey to Binh Dinh.

Through this, Mr. Ha Van Sieu also suggested that Binh Dinh province should promote research and promulgate policies to support the development of railway tourism, creating favorable conditions for the tourism industry such as policies to attract MICE tourism; upgrade transport infrastructure and diversify railway tourism products; improve Dieu Tri station, maintain the Quy Nhon - Saigon train fleet; develop train tours such as "Train to discover the land of martial arts" or "Quy Nhon coastal tourist train" and connect with tourism services and cooperate to build tours combining trains with eco-tourism and resorts.

In addition, to develop railway tourism and achieve the goal in 2025, this locality also needs to apply technology and digital transformation by using digital platforms to promote Binh Dinh tourism and provide detailed information at Dieu Tri station.

Strengthen professional promotional campaigns, organize large events such as investment promotion conferences, art, fireworks to attract tourists as well as focus on human resource development. In particular, it is necessary to focus on training human resources to serve tourists on board and improve skills in digital transformation in the tourism industry, helping to meet the increasing demands of customers.

Concluding the workshop, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that linking to build new tourism products, especially tourism by train, is a very interesting product. However, to make a train tour to Binh Dinh, the provincial tourism industry, travel agencies, and related associations need to sit together; discuss solutions and build a methodical plan.

"In addition to improving the quality of trains serving tourists, the railway experience should also upgrade services, the quality of train cars must also be improved. Regarding transportation fees, they must be competitive to attract tourists. The railway transport industry must have specific commitments, prices, tours... must be clear."

According to Mr. Lam Hai Giang, we are discussing the story of development cooperation, so we have to make efforts. The province will support the construction of flower streets and check-in stops that are more systematic, more professional, and bear the unique identity of Binh Dinh to serve tourists from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) to Binh Dinh to experience tourism. "On the business side, we must also make efforts to upgrade products, and take short-term to support long-term. The State will support and accompany, from which new tourism products can be created," Mr. Lam Hai Giang emphasized.

It is known that within the framework of this Workshop, Binh Dinh Tourism Association also organized business connections, introduced products and services and signed agreements between a number of tourism associations, travel agencies, tourism businesses of provinces and cities with Binh Dinh on cooperation in developing tourism products.
