On March 27, at the information session summarizing the 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association - said that the attraction of this year's festival was "beyond imagination", demonstrated by the increase in the number of visitors and the amount of bread sold.

Not a bread market, just doing culture

"With 150 booths of 80 businesses and units participating in the festival, each booth sells an average of 3,000 - 5,000 loaves of bread per day. The organizers have received feedback from visitors, "standing in the sun" in line when it's their turn... to run out of bread.

The "disruption" of bread supply due to great attraction, the stalls are also exhausted, but it is also the joy of the festival organizers," said Ms. Khanh.

Ms. Khanh said that this is not a bread market, the organizers are doing cultural activities so the stalls mainly serve locals and international tourists.

"For example, Bay Ho bread, sold at the festival for 25,000 VND/loaf, if this brand sells at home for the same 25,000 VND/loaf, there will be more profit. At the festival, there are a lot of costs from electricity, water, transportation, cleaning, food safety training, booth rental costs... so the profit is not much.

The bread is of low value but the business community participates, it is an effort to spread the culture and culinary value of Vietnamese bread," Ms. Khanh added.

Vietnam Bread Festival will be 'traveled abroad' in September

The 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival also attracted a large number of foreign tourists. Many tourists expressed their interest and desire to experience the Vietnam Bread Festival… abroad.

It is expected that next September, the "international version" of the Vietnamese Bread Festival will be present in Australia for the first time. "Currently, we have planned and connected with bread brands in Australia and exporters interested in bread. We will announce it soon," Ms. Khanh added.

In addition, to appreciate Vietnam's rice civilization, rice fibers produce many unique products, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association plans to organize the Vietnam Rice Fiber Festival next May.

"Vietnam's culinary culture is very unique. Therefore, the delicious dishes brought to the world are very diverse. For example, bread with other ingredients such as seafood will create 1,000 dishes.

Next May, the Vietnam Rice Flour Festival will be held, co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, to continue bringing unique culinary culture to the public," said Ms. Khanh.

Ideas for the 4th Vietnamese Bread Festival are in the works

According to the organizers, the plan and idea for the 4th Vietnam Bread Festival has been created on a more grand scale, aiming to create a strong impact and leave a strong impression, from professionals to the community and society.

"The 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival is taking place, businesses have registered to continue participating in the next festival. This is a good sign and proves the influence of the Vietnam Bread Festival," said Ms. Khanh.

The idea of the 4th Vietnam Bread Festival is to overcome the limitations of the 3rd Vietnam Bread Festival such as transportation to the festival, bread diversity, adding entertainment areas, increasing the experience of the festival; adding more scenes such as wood-fired ovens...
