Da Nang officially opens the Asian Golf Tourism Convention - AGTC 2025

This afternoon (March 31), the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the World Golf Tourism Association coordinated with relevant units to hold a press conference to open the Asian Golf Tourism Congress. With 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories attending the Asian Golf Tourism Congress - AGTC 2025, this is the second time Da Nang city has been chosen to host this event.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said: The orientation of developing high-quality tourism, including golf tourism, is through continuously hosting and organizing large-scale events, typically the Golf Tourism Festival, focusing on the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship taking place from 2022 to 2024.

The 2025 Asia Golf Tourism Congress is an international event for the golf tourism industry, featuring a number of events including a two-day Golf Tourism Conference that provides an opportunity for businesses to meet and network.

With a system of 8 international standard golf courses designed by golf legends, the central region of Vietnam, especially Da Nang city, has oriented to develop golf tourism as a strategic segment to attract high-end customers with high spending ability.

In recent times, Da Nang has promoted its golf destination in many international markets, contributing to increasing the number of tourists coming to the city.

The second time Da Nang hosts the Asian Golf Tourism Congress is not only an honor, but also a valuable opportunity for us to introduce to international friends a dynamic and modern coastal city. Promote the image of golf tourism with a system of 5-star hotels and resorts; beautiful natural landscapes and high-class tourism services of the city.

The event will help Da Nang city affirm its position on the regional and international golf tourism map and open up many opportunities for cooperation and investment to develop golf tourism and luxury tourism.

World Golf Tourism Association President Peter Walton said: "When we first brought AGTC to Da Nang in 2017, there were only four golf courses in Da Nang and central Vietnam. We expected that the success of the event would promote the sustainable development of golf tourism here. Eight years later, we returned and witnessed strong growth with eight world-class golf courses."

“AGTC 2025 continues to affirm the attractiveness of the host city when attracting more than 450 delegates, far exceeding the number of 340 delegates of AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi. We knew that Da Nang would be an attractive destination for the 11th AGTC Conference, but we did not expect to receive such great attention," Mr. Peter Walton shared.

It is known that among the 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories, the number of international buyers is 162, of which 54% come from Asia, 26% from Europe, 11% from Australia and New Zealand and 7% from North America.

Golf tourism in Da Nang and central Vietnam is not only growing in the number of golf courses but also in the number of golf rounds played. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at central courses reached 387,000 rounds, an increase of 13.8% compared to 2023 and is expected to reach 410,000 rounds in 2025, continuing to increase by more than 10% compared to 2024.

The Asian Golf Tourism Congress takes place from March 30 to April 5 with main activities such as: Survey program for golf travel agencies; AGTC 2025 Golf Championship; Asian Golf Tourism Conference with more than 4,500 meetings between buyers and sellers; IAGTO Awards ceremony

Within the framework of AGTC 2025, the World Golf Tourism Association will announce the World Golf Tourism Awards, honoring outstanding golf courses and destinations voted by international golf travelers.

In particular, Da Nang will be awarded the title "Da Nang - Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism" (Award for golf tourism dedication for Da Nang Golf destination), recognizing outstanding contributions to the development of golf tourism.
