On the afternoon of March 22, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a meeting with Mr. Lam Bach Phong, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei Asia-Pacific.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared that Vietnam has just successfully auctioned the 5G spectrum after 15 years. 2024 is the year Vietnam will commercialize 5G nationwide, so the head of the Ministry of Information and Communications asked Huawei to cooperate and share experience in commercializing 5G, encourage people to switch from 2G to 4G, 5G, as well as apply 5G technology in industries.

In addition, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung commented that the relationship between equipment manufacturers and network operators should change. Chinese companies in general and Huawei in particular should find partners in Vietnam to develop technology together. Huawei can support Vietnamese businesses in transforming from telecommunications companies to digital technology companies.

Also at the meeting, issues of 5G infrastructure development, 6G research, AI computing infrastructure as well as digital human resource training, green development... in Vietnam were discussed.

Huawei Group representative, Mr. Lam Bach Phong expressed his wish to support Vietnam in commercializing 5G. First of all, Huawei can organize seminars and workshops to share experiences from successful lessons when deploying 5G globally. The Group will also connect with network operators around the world to share with Vietnam.

Huawei Vice President proposed to build a 5G Innovation Center in Vietnam, introduce 5G testing standards and labs, and support digital workforce training. The Innovation Center aims to incubate the 5G ecosystem, monetize 5G after building the 5G network, and support people's lives. Huawei hopes to bring global 5G construction experience to Vietnam to help build the best 5G network in the shortest time.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung thanked Huawei for participating in the development of Vietnam's telecommunications infrastructure over the past 25 years. The Minister hoped that Huawei would continue to work with domestic enterprises to innovate cooperation models, contributing more to the development of both infrastructure and applications in life.
