5G networks help improve productivity and optimize resource management

This is one of the contents of Directive No. 05/CT-TTg recently signed by the Prime Minister on key and breakthrough solutions to promote economic growth and accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, ensuring that Vietnam's growth target in 2025 reaches 8% or more.

The content of Directive 05 emphasizes that economic growth must be based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, high-quality human resources, and increased labor productivity.

The Directive requires promoting a comprehensive and extensive national digital transformation in all sectors and fields, creating new momentum for economic growth based on science, technology, data, digital technology and innovation; a widespread digital economy, ensuring network security and safety.

In 2025, Viettel's 5G network will be expanded to district centers and densely populated areas to serve the people. According to the latest information from Viettel Telecommunications Corporation, by the end of January 2025, Vietnam had 5.5 million Viettel 5G users, concentrated in 63 provinces and cities, getting closer to the target of 10 million 5G users by 2025.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are the two localities with the largest number of 5G users with 2.4 million, equivalent to more than 40% of the total number of 5G users nationwide. Also in the Top 5 provinces with the largest number of 5G users are Da Nang, Binh Duong and Can Tho.

Viettel representative said that currently, Viettel's post-Tet sales and festival sales programs in the provinces are being actively implemented, promoting 5G subscribers nationwide. Viettel's 5G network speed can reach from 700Mbps - 1Gbps, 10 times faster than 4G and low latency is almost zero, deployed simultaneously on both 5G NSA (non stand alone) and 5G SA (stand alone) architecture platforms.

“The unit has plans to expand coverage in 2025 to meet the increasing needs of users while continuing to research and launch a number of additional features and products in the 5G ecosystem such as: AR/VR, MeCall, SmartCall, YouTube Premium... ", said Mr. Nguyen Trong Tinh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecom.
