Cherry Blossom Festival Organizing Committee Meeting

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, representatives of the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City reported on the progress of organizing the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2024; approved the draft assignment of tasks to members of the Festival Organizing Committee.

Accordingly, the propaganda work of the activities within the framework of the Festival is carried out in many forms and on many different means to bring information about the event to the people and tourists. Along with that, Dien Bien Phu City has completed the script for the opening ceremony of the Festival at 7/5 Square, the script for the ceremony and the performing arts program; contacted the provincial and central art units about the professional and non-professional actors of the units to prepare for the rehearsal of the opening program after approval.

Cultural activities within the framework of the Festival: Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange performance; "Sa Ke - Mong Pe" wine party and "Thang Co Hotpot - Oden Hotpot"; "Dien Bien Flavor" culinary competition are also planned, locations are surveyed, and event organizers are contacted to prepare necessary conditions. General regulations have been developed for sports exchange activities, locations and competition routes have been surveyed...

Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Phu City People's Committee Dao Hoai Nam reported on the progress of organizing the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2024.

Based on the suggestion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang, the delegates focused on discussing and contributing ideas to the preparation work for the Festival, such as: Ensuring environmental sanitation on the island, public toilets for tourists; evaluating and organizing a wine party with an appropriate scale; ensuring space for activities; expanding the road to the flower island, ensuring waterway safety. Means of transport and plans to pick up and drop off delegates and tourists by road, waterway and parking area on the island were also thoroughly and in detail discussed by the delegates attending the meeting. Regarding sports exchanges and competitions, the delegates paid special attention to ensuring safety in organizing the Marathon and Kayak races; health check-ups for athletes before participating in the competition; organizing Japanese cultural experience activities suitable to the culture of the neighboring country... The delegates also suggested adding more ornamental plants and flowers to decorate the flower island; The event of experiencing Japanese tea ceremony was added during the festival. Delegates also focused on discussing and giving opinions on the draft assignment of tasks for members of the Festival Organizing Committee...

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, requested Dien Bien Phu City to add the content of the general rehearsal of the opening program to update the composition of delegates and expected seating positions; the Provincial Radio and Television Station also plans to arrange cameras if broadcasting live on social media platforms. The Department of Transport will review the plan and make a budget estimate to help Dien Bien Phu City ensure the access to the flower island; Dien Bien Phu City will continue to do a good job of mass mobilization to build a temporary parking lot. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Health sector to ensure food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation during the Festival; complete health examination records for athletes participating in the boat racing and marathon. Regarding the budget issue, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested member units to make a budget estimate and send it on December 23 for Dien Bien Phu City to synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee.
