New products from Honor
The Magic 6 Ultimate Edition is Honor's latest flagship, introduced on the same stage as the Porsche Design Magic6 RSR - a product of collaboration with luxury car brand Porsche. The highlight of the device is the Super DUnamic Eagle Eye camera system with the super dynamic main variant H9800 (based on the OmniVision OV50K sensor).
Honor said this was the first time in days using this sensor, and affirmed that the output image quality can be compared to SLR cameras.
The H9800 sensor is 1/1.3 inches in size, has a dynamic contrast range of 15EV, and a flexible aperture of f/1.4-2.0 with optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera uses a 1200-point Lidar array focusing system and advanced image processing algorithms based on technology currently available on self-driving cars.
In addition, a LOFIC image sensor is also present to help the phone handle footage well, take photos with high dynamic contrast range, and actively support in complex lighting conditions.

The battery is 5,600 mAh, supports 80 W wired fast charging and reaches a maximum of 67 W if charging wirelessly.
Actor Jackie Chan raises doubts
Honor was once a Huawei sub-brand before being sold to a Chinese joint venture for $15 billion in late 2020, amid Huawei's US trade sanctions.
The company announced its withdrawal from the Vietnamese market at the end of 2019 for "objective reasons", but officially returned in July 2023 by launching a new smartphone in the mid-range segment.
In early 2024, the Chinese technology company announced that it had chosen actor Jackie Chan as its new brand ambassador for the Year of the Dragon. At the new product launch event held on March 18, the image of the new brand ambassador also appeared next to the company's models.
This is considered normal in China as well as many other markets in the world due to the popularity of the Hong Kong movie star. However, some Vietnamese technology followers are skeptical that the company will bring this device to the Vietnamese market, which may face a wave of protests like what happened in 2019.
Specifically, Jackie Chan is a supporter of China's nine-dash line policy (cow tongue line) in the East Sea under Vietnam's sovereignty. The domestic online community once opposed Jackie Chan's visit to Vietnam as an ambassador for Operation Smile (November 2019) because the actor once supported the "cow tongue line" and was also considered a bad father for abandoning his daughter Ngo Trac Lam.
