More than 50 workers hospitalized

Quang Ninh: While working, 57 workers of Vega Balls Company Limited, Dong Mai Industrial Park, Quang Yen town had difficulty breathing, headaches, nausea and had to be hospitalized on February 21.

At around 9:30 a.m., after dozens of workers showed signs of fatigue, Vega Balls Company Limited temporarily stopped production and let the workers go outside to rest. The company then took 33 workers to the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital and 24 people to the Quang Yen Town Medical Center for examination and monitoring with symptoms suspected of being caused by gas poisoning.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Quang Yen town, up to now, 100% of the workers have regained consciousness, but are still being monitored at the medical facility. Authorities are investigating to determine the exact cause.

Vega Balls Co., Ltd. is 100% Taiwanese invested, specializing in manufacturing and processing sports and fitness equipment. The company built a factory in Dong Mai Industrial Park in 2016 and this is the first time an incident has occurred, causing many workers to be hospitalized.
