TPO - The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed to the plan that Ho Chi Minh City students will have 11 days off for Lunar New Year in 2025, 2 days more than the original plan.

On the afternoon of December 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document agreeing with the proposal of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training on extending the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for students.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the proposal of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, agreeing to adjust the Lunar New Year holiday for preschool education, general education and continuing education. Ho Chi Minh City students will have Tet holiday from January 23 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 24 to January 5). Thus, students will have 11 days off.

Previously, the Lunar New Year holiday for students in Ho Chi Minh City was 9 days, starting from January 25, 2025 (December 26) to February 2, 2025 (January 5).

Many parents and students think that the Tet holiday is too short. Many people wish that students could have a longer holiday, especially parents who live far away and want to bring their children back home to reunite with their families during Tet.

Currently, many provinces and cities have announced the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students.

Kon Tum is the locality that gives students the longest Tet holiday with 17 days (including weekends). Many provinces give students 14 days off such as Binh Phuoc, Tra Vinh, Tay Ninh, Yen Bai...
