National Flag Raising Ceremony on Both Banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai

The Hien Luong - Ben Hai river banks are historical witnesses bearing the pain of the country's division for more than 20 years, witnessing the resilient and indomitable struggle of our people to gain independence, freedom and national unification, a place that demonstrates the Vietnamese people's eternal desire for peace, deeply and strongly shaking the conscience of humanity.

The border flagpole located on the north bank of the Ben Hai River is also a historical witness to the "flag battle" on both sides of the border after the Geneva Accords in 1954. The current flagpole was built according to the 1962 design, 38.6m high, with a pedestal added below to honor the victory.

Hien Luong - Ben Hai Special National Historical Site

The Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Historical Relic Site covers an area of ​​9 hectares and includes the following items: Historical exhibition house; border flagpole; complex house; police station; historic Hien Luong bridge; loudspeaker systems; watchtowers... In which, the historic Hien Luong bridge was restored in 2003 according to the design of a French iron bridge built in 1952.
