More than 122,000 candidates refused to enter university in the first round

On the evening of August 27, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the latest data on full-time university enrollment for the first phase of 2024.

Accordingly, as of 5:00 p.m. on August 27, the deadline for confirming admission, 551,497 candidates had confirmed their admission online on the system, reaching 81.87% of the number of candidates admitted in the first round on the system. This year's admission rate is higher than last year (80.34%).

In 2024, the total number of candidates registering for university admission is more than 733,000, of which 673,586 candidates were admitted in the first round of the system.

Thus, there were about 122,107 candidates who did not confirm their admission, accounting for 18.13% of the total number of candidates admitted in the first round.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, by 5:00 p.m. today, August 27, all admitted candidates must complete the first round of online admission confirmation on the system. After this time, if the candidate does not confirm admission, it will be considered as refusing admission.

From August 28 to December 2024, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds of schools must follow the admission plan posted on the school's admission information page (if the school applies for additional admission).

Currently, dozens of universities have announced additional admissions for thousands of students in many majors.

If candidates have not confirmed their admission on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, they have the right to register for additional admission to other schools as usual.

Candidates who have passed the entrance exam and have confirmed their enrollment will not be considered for additional enrollment, except in cases where the head of the training institution allows them not to enroll. Candidates who have confirmed their enrollment on the Ministry's system will not be able to automatically remove the cancellation information.
