This morning, May 30, more than 11,400 candidates across the province entered the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, including 605 candidates taking the exam for Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted.

According to the exam schedule, this morning, candidates will take the Math (90 minutes) and English (60 minutes) exams; in the afternoon, candidates will take the Literature exam (120 minutes). Tomorrow, May 31, candidates registering for the exam at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted will continue to take the specialized subjects exam (150 minutes).
The exam was held at 34 exam locations with 500 exam rooms across the province. The number of candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam this year is nearly 2,000 more than in the 2023-2024 school year.
For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, 284 students are recruited, divided into 9 classes, including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, Informatics, History - Geography, 1 class each and 2 classes of English.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training proactively advised and coordinated with relevant units to carry out preparation steps to ensure the progress and plan of the exam in order to create all favorable conditions for candidates. The contents of the exam regulations have been thoroughly disseminated to the exam staff and candidates.
The examination sites proactively monitor and closely follow the examination situation. In particular, the hot weather and high temperatures during the examination period affect the health of candidates as well as examination staff.
According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, admission to grade 10 high school for the 2024-2025 school year includes 2 rounds. Round 1 is registration and participation in the exam; round 2 is registration after the exam results are available. The total enrollment target for grade 10 of all public high schools in the province is 9,494 students, divided into 215 classes.
Accompanying the exam, youth unions in localities with exam sites have established volunteer teams to support the exam season, closely coordinating with authorities, medical facilities, and exam sites to grasp information about the candidates' situation to provide support.
Implement free pick-up and drop-off activities for candidates in special circumstances, in remote areas; provide meals, drinks, and cold towels for candidates and their families at examination sites; guide candidates to find examination rooms, and encourage candidates.
