More than 100 works participate in "A Country Full of Joy"

Up to now, the song composition campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has attracted 110 works by nearly 100 authors.

The campaign to compose the theme song "The Country is Full of Joy" organized by the Lao Dong Newspaper, officially launched from the end of September 2023 until December 30, 2024, is a meaningful activity, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), contributing to educating the national historical tradition, pride in the homeland and the Fatherland; at the same time, promoting the image of a rich and beautiful country, Vietnamese people united, hospitable, steadfast in the face of all challenges and difficulties.

Meaningful activities

In just over a month, the campaign to compose the theme song "The Country is Full of Joy" will conclude its journey of receiving entries. After more than a year of launching, the Organizing Committee (OC) of the campaign has received 110 songs from nearly 100 authors who are musicians, singers, and singing groups from many provinces and cities across the country. The Organizing Committee will select 20 excellent works for the final round. The final round will take place in February 2025. During the time of receiving works and preliminary screening, the Organizing Committee will choose a good work to stage and introduce at the 30th Mai Vang Award Ceremony, taking place on the evening of January 8, 2025 at the City Theater (HCMC).

In each preliminary summary stage of the composition campaign, the Organizing Committee has implemented a music exchange program to create a bridge between famous musicians and singers with the audience and readers of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, thereby contributing to promoting the composition campaign, so that more musicians from all over the country can send songs to the Organizing Committee.

Journalist Bui Thanh Liem - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the song composition campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" - emphasized: "Music exchange programs aim to spread artistic values in music composition, while transmitting positive energy to the generation of students studying music and art, thereby creating a bridge of exchange to help the younger generation better understand the composition process, finding materials to write about the city named after Uncle Ho".

In the most recent 3rd Music Exchange program, musician Quynh Hop introduced the song "Happy Reunification Day". Musician Quynh Hop expressed: "I hope the campaign will have many good songs, the Organizing Committee will collect the 50 best songs and print them into a collection. This will be a valuable source of songs written about Ho Chi Minh City that will be circulated".

What is particularly impressive about the songwriting campaign for the theme song "The Country Full of Joy" is the richness of genres and themes, based on the common theme of the city. It is quite surprising that some of the songs in the contest combine many contemporary music genres, including rap, R&B and most of all, pop ballads.

The ripple effect of the music exchange programs organized by the Organizing Committee of the songwriting campaign has increased the attention of people in the industry. The proof is the increasing number of compositions submitted to the contest. More importantly, the works submitted to the contest are all of high quality and as the Organizing Committee shared: "It is great that the authors are making it difficult for the judges to choose the best works".

In addition to veteran musicians such as Pham Minh Tuan, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Nguyen Van Hien, Hoai An, Quynh Hop, Mai Tram, musician - singer Dinh Van, Tien Luan, Pham Dang Khuong, Xuan Nghia, Nguyen Van Chung, Le Anh Tu, Dang Quang Vinh..., many young musicians also enthusiastically participated such as Hoang Trung Anh, Huy Truong, Nguyen Quang Dai, Hoang Luan,...

In particular, the campaign to compose the theme song "The Country is Full of Joy" also attracted singers. Many singers enthusiastically participated, such as singer Huynh Loi who participated in the song "My City - Continue Writing the Song of the Road"; singer Nguyen Phi Hung who composed the song "The City in Me"; two young singers from the Blue Sky singing group, Thu Thao and Yen Phuong, wrote the song "The City of Blue"...

The prize structure of the songwriting campaign "The Country is Full of Joy" includes: 1 first prize worth 100 million VND, 1 second prize worth 50 million VND, 2 third prizes - each worth 30 million VND, 3 consolation prizes - each worth 10 million VND. The Organizing Committee has just announced an additional prize of "The most favorite work of readers" worth 5 million VND.
