On March 24, at Thong Nhat Park - Thien Quang Lake, Hanoi, the Francophone Run 2024 took place. The event attracted more than 1,800 athletes including students, lecturers, businesses, diplomatic agencies, foreigners and Francophone organizations in Hanoi.

Following the success of the first Francophone Run held in 2022 and wishing to make the event an annual activity aimed at strengthening the spirit of solidarity of the French-speaking community, the Francophone University Organization (AUF), the French Embassy in Vietnam and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) co-organized the second season of the Francophone Run - Course de la Francophonie.
This is one of the activities to celebrate the Francophone month and the 54th anniversary of International Francophonie Day (March 20). This year, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 "For a healthy and happy life for all at all ages" was chosen as the main theme of the event. With the name "Ensemble" (together), the Francophone Run 2024, through diverse activities, hopes to become a meeting place to encourage and promote health and joy of life for the community.

In his opening speech, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said that the second season of the Francophone Run was organized to celebrate the Francophone Month, with the desire to turn the event into an annual activity aimed at strengthening the spirit of solidarity of the French-speaking community in Vietnam, as well as contributing to the realization of the United Nations' sustainable development goals.
Through diverse activities, the Francophone Run 2024 aims to raise awareness in the community about the importance of physical activities to maintain a healthy life, prevent diseases and encourage a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
The race has 3 main distances, 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km, suitable for the ability of each group of participants. This is one of the grassroots races with the most diverse prize structure with a total of 37 prizes, for male and female champions of each distance, the oldest and youngest athletes of each distance, the earliest registered group and the largest registered group...

The event also featured many cultural exchange and exhibition activities with the participation of nearly 40 booths and 28 art performances in French from schools in Hanoi, as well as French-speaking organizations, embassies, and businesses...
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about study opportunities in French, access internship programs, scholarships, student exchanges, short-term language courses and training programs from French-speaking educational institutions in Hanoi, as well as job opportunities in French offered by French-speaking businesses.
Through this event, participants will also have the opportunity to expand their understanding of the Francophone community around the world, explore and exchange cultures, contributing to personal development in community relations.
