Kinhtedothi – On the morning of March 11, within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, an international trade conference took place at Muong Thanh Hotel with the participation of more than 700 delegates, including many international delegates.


The conference was co-chaired by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa).

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said: Dak Lak in general and Buon Ma Thuot in particular have long been famous for their vast coffee regions and are known as the "Coffee Capital of Vietnam". With its central location in the region, Buon Ma Thuot has many potentials and advantages from natural conditions to heroic historical and cultural traditions for socio-economic development. In recent times, Dak Lak province has shown solidarity, determination, efforts, and achieved many extremely important results, gradually transforming itself, striving to become a developed and prosperous locality with many specialty products, especially coffee products that have become one of the famous brands in the region and the world.

According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the 2023-2024 crop year, the country exported 1,476,842 tons of coffee, with an export turnover of 5.425 billion USD, down 11.3% in volume but up nearly 33% in value compared to the previous crop year.

Dak Lak province alone exported 264,404 tons of coffee, accounting for 17.9% of the country's total; Export turnover reached 915.795 million USD, an increase of 168.238 million USD compared to the previous crop (up 22.5%), accounting for 16.9% of the country's total.

At the Conference, delegates also discussed the role of businesses in elevating Vietnamese coffee and building the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand - a world coffee destination; the coffee export situation, assessment of market trends and current barriers to world coffee consumption, and market orientation for the Vietnamese coffee industry.

The conference is also an opportunity for coffee businesses to spread the value of their products to domestic and foreign customers.

In his speech, Mr. Trinh Duc Minh - Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association said: Climate change is having a profound and serious impact on the Vietnamese coffee industry - one of the key agricultural export industries and bringing great economic value to the country.
