The project on two prime lands at the intersection of Store No. 1 (old) has been "sawing" for a record long time.

That is at a "long distance", right in the city center, there are also many projects that have been covered up from year to year, such as the 2 plots of land at the old Cua Hang So 1 intersection (Ha Noi - Ly Thuong Kiet - Nguyen Tri Phuong - Ngo Quyen intersection); An Hoa bus station area... Bustling for a moment then basically quiet. Coming back, many people still ask each other: What is this place for? Who is the owner? When will it be exploited... The answer "sounds immense", even for journalists, after searching for a long time, they get tired, so they stop. That is just a glimpse, but if we count, we are sure that there are not just examples. And if we go along the length of the country, there are countless similar projects.

The information was presented at the meeting between General Secretary To Lam and more than 300 veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious people, and typical policy families of the Central Highlands in Da Nang City on the afternoon of March 28. The whole country has about 2,800 projects that are behind schedule or have not been put into use. Preliminary statistics in provinces and cities also show that there are 3,495 projects behind schedule, occupying a total area of nearly 55,000 hectares! That situation also makes the General Secretary angry and impatient. Speaking at the meeting, he said: “There are projects that are delayed for decades, which is unacceptable, especially when our land resources are already difficult. Recently, Hanoi reported that it had just reviewed and recovered 2 out of hundreds of projects that had collected over 8,000 billion VND. If we handle this issue well, the resources for national development will be huge!”

The project at the old An Hoa bus station has been "covered" for who knows how many years...

Huge resources are wasted, creating inertia for the economy and causing public outrage. It is time for this story to be ended and ended completely. That determination is concretized in Official Dispatch No. 26/CD-TTg signed and issued by the Prime Minister on March 31, 2025, requesting ministries, branches and localities to urgently review and report on investment projects with difficulties, problems and long-term backlogs on the National Public Investment System. The Official Dispatch clearly states the deadline for completion is April 10, 2025. After the above deadline, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities who do not direct the updating of information will be considered to have no more projects with problems or difficulties that need to be reported to competent authorities for resolution and will be responsible before the Government, the Prime Minister and the law for not fully reporting and proposing as required by the Prime Minister.

It is known that before that, the Prime Minister also issued many directives to urge and resolve the issue; at the same time, he also established a Steering Committee headed by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh to assist the Prime Minister in directing specific and regular tasks to resolve the situation of stuck and pending projects. With Official Dispatch 26/CD-TTg, it can be seen that the head of the Government is determined to deal with this pressing issue.

With the spirit that the Prime Minister often states, "what is said must be done, what is done must have results", we can believe that the "sad story" from the projects will soon have a happy ending.
