Recorded at the Vo Truong Toan Secondary School (District 1) exam site, at 6:35 a.m., after most of the candidates had entered the exam site, Nguyen Dang Quynh Anh (a student at Vo Truong Toan Secondary School) was still sitting at a street corner, flipping through each notebook and outline in her hand to carefully review her knowledge before the literature exam. Not to mention, in the backpack placed in front of the female student, the writer observed many documents for the exam.
Quynh Anh took the opportunity to review her literature lesson before the 10th grade exam.
At exactly 7 o'clock, Quynh Anh finished her review, put all her documents in her backpack and listened attentively to her father's instructions. At that moment, the female student could not hold back her sobs because of the pressure of the exam. Quickly using a tissue to dry her tears, Quynh Anh then walked into the exam room with her father, starting the journey to conquer her first wish, Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1).
10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City: Parents take time off work, wake up at 3am, and brave the rain to accompany their children
As the person who always accompanies Quynh Anh on her learning journey, Mr. Nguyen Nam Truc (36 years old, living in District 7), the female student's father, said that he was just as nervous and worried as his daughter on today's exam day. "My daughter's academic performance is relatively good, always in the top 3 of the class and always studies independently, so I never pressure her, just always support and create conditions for her to study more if she needs it," Mr. Truc shared.
Female student burst into tears because of exam pressure
Mr. Nam Truc sat looking at Quynh Anh's review documents while waiting for his child to finish the exam.
To prepare for today's exam, Mr. Truc said Quynh Anh had to wake up at 4am to review her literature lessons, even studying for breakfast, "making me have to scold her, but then I encouraged her because I felt guilty for scolding her at this sensitive stage".
Mr. Truc took his daughter to the exam site at 6:20 a.m. and Quynh Anh continued to review her lessons until 7 a.m. "Although she is worried, she rarely talks about the difficulties she is facing. Therefore, I can only wholeheartedly support her, hoping that she can fulfill her wish with her own abilities," Mr. Truc shared.
Kha Doanh, a student at Tran Van On Secondary School, took the opportunity to memorize more evidence before entering the exam room.
Another female student also took the opportunity to review her lesson.
Not only Truc and Quynh Anh, recorded in reality at the exam site, many candidates still stayed with their parents until the last minute to review as much knowledge as possible. It could be a poem, a sentence or a real-life example, helping them to "elevate" their essay. Many students also took the opportunity before the exam time to finish eating bread and sticky rice to fully recharge their energy.

When arriving at the exam site, Nguyen Dang Khoi, a student at Van Lang Secondary School, realized that he had not brought his exam ticket. Fortunately, Khoi's parents had brought it to him before the exam time.
Candidates will take the 10th grade literature exam within 120 minutes with the exam structure consisting of 3 parts: reading comprehension (3 points), social commentary (3 points) and literary commentary (4 points). In the afternoon of the same day (June 6), candidates will take the 10th grade foreign language exam within 90 minutes.
