(Fatherland) - In Yen Bai in January, the flowers of the Azalea begin to bloom, adding vitality to the winter of Mu Cang Chai during Tet.
The flower of the peach family is a wild flower, typical of the Northwest mountainous region and is often called "păng tôi dày" by the Mong people in Mu Cang Chai.
Flowers bloom in January, about a month before peach blossoms.
The areas with the most densely blooming flowers are Ta Chi Lu, Trong Pao Sang, and Trong Tong villages in La Pan Tan commune, Mu Cang Chai district. Visitors can hire local people to guide them and travel by foot or motorbike to see the flowers.
According to people in La Pan Tan commune, the thick flowers begin to bloom from high mountains to low mountains, because the cold weather will stimulate the flowers to bloom earlier.
The flower is thick and belongs to the peach family. The flower has 5 pink petals, long red pistils and blooms in attractive clusters.
In the past, the flowers grew naturally because the seeds fell and germinated when conditions were favorable. Locals often cut them down for firewood, peeled the bark to make musical instruments, tools...
But in recent years, the flowers have bloomed more and more beautifully, attracting tourists to visit, thereby developing accommodation services, tour guides, motorbike taxis, photography... creating a new source of income for the people.
Gradually, the thick forests were preserved and planted to serve tourists.
In the culture of the Mong ethnic group, the traditional Tet holiday takes place at the end of the 11th lunar month. This time coincides with the season of thick plum blossoms, so the mountain flower becomes a symbol of Tet, signaling a new year for the Mong people.
Flowers are in full bloom all over Garrya Resort Mu Cang Chai.
This year this is a place that attracts a lot of tourists because the cherry blossoms are at their most beautiful.
According to the manager of Garrya Resort Mu Cang Chai, the flowers are planted along the roads around the resort. This year, the flowers are blooming evenly and beautifully, so many tourists come here to take pictures.
